dele when Santa Claus, his Eskimo
companicns ‘and the dogs and the
reindcer wil be seen in a grand pa
rade through the principal streets and
Jater on at the reception of the Mar
ket lot oppesite the post office. .
All plans have been completed. The|

fence are heing placed today around
the grounds and by noon tomorrow all !
things will be in readiness. If ihe
weather man is kind on Tuesday as he
has been on Monday, there could be
no prettire opportunity to call on San
ta Claus. t
The visit is made at the suggestion
of the Atlanta Journal. Santa Ciaus
-has heen the guest of that paper in}
Atlanta for several days. He comes to- |
morrow—the hour..of his arrival not
being made known so that he wiil not
be caught in the jam of the great
crowd before he and his attendants
are ready for the parade.

The local city xfi&’force is well or
ganized for the occasion and will give
their time to keeping the crowdfs in
orderly line for the parade. All‘those
. who come to Cordele will have oppor
tunity to shake hands’ with Santa
Claus. He will be on the reception
stand a long time in front of the post
office building and there the thousands
will have ample time to pass and
shake hands as they may wish. There
need be no pushing and jamming. Af
"ter the parade the reception will be
held and everybody can see the Eski
mos and the dogs and the reindeer
which acompany Santa Claus from the
far frozen north.

—(AP)—Leona Rogers, Dublin negress

state prison farm at Milledgeville for

‘nounced by Judge R. L. Camp after
i the negress had enterzd.a plea of
guilty.
The trial lasted hardly thirty min
utes. No evidence heing presented. '
Judge Camp directed the jury to re-,
turn a verdict of giulty with recom
mendation to mercy which they did
without leaving the bier. The negress
‘when first arrested denied that she
killed Daley but a few days ago was
reported to have confessed.that her|
pistol was accidentally discharged in
a scuffle. The shoting occurred short
’ly after midnight in front of the Da

’that; Daley was the father of her six

BLAKELY, Ga., Deccmber 12—(AP)
—Harris Hayes, 60 year old Early
county farmer went on trial here to
day for the murder of James und
Amos Hayes, his sons and Gladys
Hoyes his daughter-in-law. Mr. Hayes
‘was indicted jointly with his wife,
but the defense announced ready and
selection of a jury proceded.
Hayes was arrested after the suc
cessive deaths of his two sons and
daughter-in-law had ariused the sus
picion of Early coulnty cfficers.
Amos Returned
Amos who was living in Detroit with
his wife and 18-months-old baby, was
notified of his brother's illness, and
while he was enroute from Detroit he
was notified his brother had died. T.css
than a month after his arival, Amos
was stricken and he died early in Au
gust, in a hospital at Dohan Ala.
When her husband first was stricken
Mrs. Hayes was notified of her hus
pand’s condition and she hastened to
iim, bheing acompanied hy her sister
and intant child.
Less than two weeks afier her arriv
al the girl died. It was then Deputy
Howell started hisinvestigation which
resulted in the couple’s arrest. Both
vehemently deny the charge and Hays
since his confinement has maintained
a contident demeanor.
