Aged to Perfection
at the Jenkins County Senior Citizen Center

The Times
Well, we arrived at the Center Monday morning and
found Easter everywhere!
In our main room there were lighted trees with Easter
ornaments and Easter eggs hanging from the branches
and baskets on the ground below the trees filled with
eggs. Easter eggs were scattered about.
In one area of the room was a carrot patch with
carrots all around and there sat this bunny gathering
them. You could look at him and tell he was up to no
good! At the other end of the room was a fireplace
with Easter decorations everywhere. Large Easter
eggs adorned the mantel with baskets all around. On
each of our tables were Easter arrangements in buck
ets. The room was so festive, and fun filled.
Even though we enjoyed it all, our lobby was truly
what Easter is about. When walking through the front
doors we were met by a huge cross draped with a pur
ple cloth. Greenery and wildflowers were on a mound
all around the base of the cross. This reminded us of
the most important event in human history... Jesus ris
ing from the dead! We celebrate Easter because God
lived the life we should’ve lived, and died the death
we deserved to die so that we could live. We need to
remember that this is the time of the year that life be
gins to bloom around us and that while spring replaces
winter a feeling that the old is being made new all over
again. It is fitting that we celebrate the resurrection at
this time of year, and also fitting that we embrace the
new life offered to us through our living Savior!
