Auditions at Southside
Theatre Guild Dec. 10-12
Southside Theatre
Guild in Fairburn knows
that the best way to spread
Christmas cheer is to sing
aloud for all to hear, and
the cast and crew plans to
get audiences in the holi
day spirit with their pro
duction of “Elf, Jr.,”
premiering Friday, Dec. 8.
The story is familiar to
anyone who has seen the
classic film starring Will
Ferrell. Buddy the Elf has
lived at the North Pole
since he was a baby, but
when he finds out that he
is a human and that his
father lives in New York
City, he goes on a rollick
ing adventure.
While Buddy meets all
sorts of characters in the
Big Apple, his biggest mis
sion is to get his father off
Santa’s naughty list.
Unlike the film, Elf, Jr.
is a musical production
featuring songs like
“Happy All the Time,”
“World’s Greatest Dad,”
and “Sparklejollytwinkle-
jingley,” which is featured
in the Broadway Elf musi
cal. The production also
features a top-notch cast of
actors, all under the age of
18.
“Elf, Jr.” is directed by
Lauren Helena, assisted by
numerous helpers making
holiday magic come to life.
Tickets are $11 for the
approximately 90-minute
production that is “fun for
all ages,” according to or
ganizers.
The show begins at 8
p.m. on Friday, Dec. 8, and
Friday, Dec. 15. Saturday
and Sunday performances
will be held at 2:30 p.m. on
Dec. 9,10,16, and 17.
Tickets are available at
stgplays.com.
Southside Theatre
Guild will hold auditions
for "Alice in Wonderland"
by Jason Pizzarello Dec.
10-12 at the theater, lo
cated at 20 West Camp-
bellton Street in Fairburn.
“This remarkable
adaptation weaves to
gether Lewis Carroll’s
‘Alice’s Adventures in
Wonderland’ and
‘Through the Looking
Glass’ into a singular, en
chanting act. But here’s
the twist - within this
adaptation, the produc
tion is hoping to explore
the concept of multiple
Alices,” organizers com
mented.
“Originally intended as
a youth outreach produc
tion, we realized that the
talent in our local schools
deserves a chance to shine
as well. So, we’re opening
the doors to all ages, with
a strong emphasis on
youth inclusion,” said di
rector Will Evans.
“This means you could
be part of a potentially
large, diverse cast, where
every role is crucial and
impactful,” he continued.
“Rehearsals will be engag
ing and enjoyable, with a
focus on keeping the at
mosphere light, humor
ous, and filled with
wonder.”
Auditions will consist
of old readings, scene
work, warm-ups, and
movement reviews.
Check-in begins at
6:30 p.m. and auditions
will start at 7 p.m. It is not
necessary to attend all
three auditions.
Performances of “Alice
in Wonderland,” will take
place Thursday-Saturday,
Feb. 15-25.

There is no limit to the

we all fall short of our
