Hardeman was induced to act as
umpire during the series of class
games. He has acted fairly and
squarely, and lias met with the ap
proval of the entire representative
portion of the student body of the
university. He lias no interests at
stake whatever, which any close
observer could sec at a glance. His
umpiring is far superior to any seen
was forceful, eloquent and scholar
ly. The noise of the rain on the
canvaa was annoying to him and
hard to speak against, but the audi
ence drew near the platform, so an
xious were they to hear every word
of the splendid address, l’rof. Ki
ley, in the forceful ami earnest style
of bis delivery reminded many of Dr.
Lansing, who is such a favorite here.

Dr. Duncan thanked Prof. Kiley
for the pleasure he had afforded all
who listened to him, and naked him
to give another talk some time
during the day's programme, to
which Professor Kilev consented.
