In taking our j It is the property of the U. of G. Whether it is to he a success or not depends on the ’Varsity boys. With this introduction we present to you No. 1 of Vol. II. Hoping that it will prove beneficial and in structive to the students of the old University of Georgia and the world at large.’ COLLEGE POLITICS. When Tiik Ukd and Black first made its appearance last- year it look its stand on an anti political platform. This principal we still hold and ulthough wu may he treading in dangerous ground iu thus speaking, we feel we are on IDS right side. College politics has a tendency to cause a wid e breach between the college students. College men should he as a whole with the interests of their Alma Mater at heart, not as two or more separate bodies continually pulling away from one another. The old motto of “United we stand Divided we fall" applys to the college man as well as one. The right man in lbe right place should be our maxim. To break up politics at the U. of G. of course would require that the hoys look to the good of the grand old University and pull together. Things have gone entirely too far in politics at the U. of ti. and there is no telling where it will end. May Tiik Ukd and Black soon see the word Fac tions become obsolete in the Vo cabulary of the University student. I Thia is plain talk we know still we feel all will realize that we are realy speaking with the good of the college at heart and hope none will misunderstand us or lake offense at same.
