Hememlier tomorrow that you
are gentlemen and members of the
University of Georgia.
If you go to Atlanta to cheer the
\ arsity you w ill help the team win.
Let every man that attends the
Georgia-Auburn game be literally
covered with red and black and
exercise his vocal organs in cheer
ing for Georgia.
Owing to the fact that all the
editors of the Kxn and Black will
attend the game to-morrow in com
pany with the rest of the college,
the Urn and Hi.ack is gotten out
one day earlier than is customary.
A good number of the subscrip
tions to the Kkd and Hi.ack have
not as yet been paid. This is due
to a great extent to carelessness.
The men w ho aro indebted to the
Kki> and Hi.ack should remember
that these debts are a matter of
honor ns much a* anything else and
should make settlements at onoe.
Our esteemed contemporary, the
Sewanec Purple, has an editorial
in in lust issue regarding “that
great Georgia bssc-linll aggrega
tion," from which after great study
we are aide to con rclieud nothing.
t\ o would he dciightyd to write
them un editorial on “ Is Honesty
the Host Policy," if we had the
slightest idea to what they were al
luding. We may he rather dull of
comprehension, but nt any rate,
Brother Johnston, you should bo
more explicit in your remarks.
Owing to certain vary inappro
priate and useless remarks that had
been made, the ’Varsity Day at
\ arsity Place last Saturday was not
tpiite as successful as was anticipa
ted. Forty dollars ware taken in,
and one fourth of this, or ten dol
lars, was given to the Athletic As
sociation. This is quite a neat sum,
however, and so here’s to Mr. Blu-
tncnthal for his kindness.
W e suffered a crushing defeat at
the hands of Auburn on the grid
iron last F all, and we have been de-
sirng revenge ever since. To-mor
row we meet them in Atlanta upon
the diamond, and it is every one’s
desire that we indict a punishment
upou them as severe as that we snf-
\
fernd from them last
Day.

lanta to-morrow, and it is the duty ty i,. lve decided to establish a col-

attend the game ami give the ’Var
sity his hearty encouragement.
A very low rate has been secured
and one that will permit everyone
to go, no matter what be the cir
cumstances. The final exams, with
their requirements for increased toil
will soon ho on, and a short^-estl
taken now would be greatly bene
ficial.
We hope that the University will
go down in a body, and thus be
sides securing for themselves a day
of recreation and pleasure, inspire
the ’\ arsity with their presence and
aid it in gaining a victory.
It is a well known fact that there
is nothing more likely to arouse en
thusiasm in a crowd of college men
than a well given yell. It is equally
as well known that there is nothing
that will infuse spirit into a base
ball team more than the cheering
of the college body. These facts
should ho impressed strongly on
every one’s mind.
Our college yells are as good as
those anywhere and can be given,
when occasion demands, with the
greatest strength and unity.
The time for this has arrived, and
to-morrow we must all lie united
and must cheer with one accord for
Georgia and its great ball team.
In order that those who are not
well acquainted with the yells may
become so, and that all may exer
cise perfect unity, we take upon
ourselves the authority of calling a
mass meeting of the students at four
o’clock this afternoon in front of
the chapel. Let a leader bo selected
and let us all practice the yells
which shall inspire our team to
morrow.
We wish to impress on every one J
who goes to Atlanta to-morrow that
a great responsibility is resting upon
him. The University of Georgia
will be judged to-morrow by the
conduct of the individual men. A
