(JimhI morrow, Now Stmlonts. W»* joyfully greet you,
W'e itHHiiro you your puper in inont pleased to meet you,
And we trust tliut tlo* Sophs have not yet tried to treat you
To the hair cuts they give away free.
We ad\ ise you on entering your college careers
To shun all Ihi* gentlemen who carry the shears,
Hut if they should get you —the place for repairs:
The shops whose adds herein you see.
We trust we can aid you w ith some few suggestions
That will help you in solving embarrassing questions
And also will aid in your mental dijestions
Of the various tales you may swallow
lip here the word “lire’’ will follow the “shoot,”
A team “on tin 1 pig’’ don’t cause students to “root,"
A Fresh needn’t join if the Sphinx doesn’t suit
Him, dismissal from college won’t follow.
Don’t say “conversation,” hut use the word "rag,”
“Take advantage” is not stylish, its "getting the gag,”
“Skidoo” ’s out of fashion since Adam’s tirst jag,
I'lease take these as Knglish prescriptions.
Don’t deposit your laundry at the Chancellor's door,
Don't go out barefooted, 'tis stylish no more,
Don't study too hard, hut above all lie sure.

The School of Forestry is indeed
fortunate in the possession of such a
valuable asset as the recent addition
to the Campus.”
Is it your purpose to carry on any
investigations?
"Yes, the tirst thing will he a com
prehensive study ol the native forest
trees, their distribution, uses, and
means of jierpetuation. Simultane
ously with this study a forest herba
rium will be collected and a museum
of wood specimens."
How will you travel when making
this study?
“Mostly on foot. That’s the best
way to study the w,»ods.”
You spoke just now of practical
assistance to farmers. How will that
he worked out?
••Well, it will work itsell out. < hie
lamer has already asked me to ex
amine some 300 acres of woodland
on his farm and to advise with him
as lo its future management. ((fliers
will probably do the same. I he

duties will permit, m\ t me is at the I
disposal ol the farms.”
