Turning Green Horns Into Veterans. Week's Work has
Wrought Great Change in Conditions. Candidates
Still Appearing
Every afternoon practice has been
going steadily on with a rapidity that
is startling. The first scrimmage of
the season came off last Wednes
day between the Varsity and the
Scrubs. Although the field was not
marked off and no time was kept, the
fierce and somewhat spectacular work
of the candidates kept an eager
crowd following up and down the
side lines in the wake of the strug
gling contestants.
Several new men have entered the
lists this week, and have made an ex
tremely promising appearance. In
addition to this, letters have been re
ceived from Wray and Nunn, saying
that they would re-enter college and
expected to appear on the field in
harness next week.
All of this bodes well for Georgia
and the rooters go about with bright
and gladsome looks. Every after
noon they congregate near the ball
field and give vent to their super
abundance enthusiasm in ear-split
ting, deafening yells that keep the
teams on their metle.
