THE BULLETIN BOARDS
Ihe college V. M. (’. A. Iiasl
recentl\ had two neat ami service
able bulletin boards placed in the
court ol the Academic Building, one
lor the exclusive use of the Chancel
lot and faculty, the other for the stu
dents and their various organizations.
These boards are placed in the
most prominent location on the
campus, and each man ill college
should make it his business to notice
them carefully once each morning
and once each afternoon.
We have known of several cases
during the last week where men miss
ed important meetings by failing to
read the announcements placed on
the boards, and we have also heard
others say that they rarely stop to do
so.
I hese boards were put in position
to be used, and a student handicaps
hmiselt sometimes very seriously
when he neglects to keep in touch
with what is going on.
I the Central City, and who are well
I known to the majority of the student
body.
Mr. Solomon is an alumnus of the
University and as such is well known
over the entire state lie is an of
ficer in the Macon Volunteers and
he and Mr. Adams have a number of
friends here who deeply regret the
unfortunate affair.
The two gentlemen were attending
the Macon fair, and were fired upon
and dangerously wounded, while re
senting an insult to a lady by an in
solent negro—The negro narrowly
escaped lynching at the kands of an
enraged mob ond was hurried to At
lanta to; safety The two young men
were carried to the hospital and the
latest report as to their condition is
that the physicians consider the
chances for their recovery very good.
This affair may he considered
another result of the feeling between 10 Whitehall St.
the races, as manfested so vividly in
the recent riot in Atlanta, and as
such is to he deeply regretted.
