A trained school for young lady
marksmen will be opened during the
summer school session of this year,
headquarters announces. We note
this with extreme regret. It has
alwuys been the Intention of most of
us to tie u nuptial knot with some
unsuspecting young creature in the
perhaps future, build a little nest,
and deposit a few eggs therein. This
course is recommended by all the
leading citizens of the country. But
If this little love nest is to be hov
ered over by u nexpert markswoman,
It is not a promise of utter male
freedom, and It might be mentioned
that the outlook for the future is
very dismal.
We think that there are enough
eliminations of husbands now at the
rate of 2,400 per second, nnd this
additional weapon put Into the hands
of womankind will soon do away
with all the males of the species,
ami there will grow up a race of
pure women. We wish the editor
of this paper would come out with
an editorial on this subject as the
situation for future husbands is
distressing.

afraid of him getting into any com

themselves defenseless. They de

A certain speaker at a certain lit
erary society was engaged in a long
prologue Wednesday night which
finully ended up in a melodramatic
recital of a humorous poem on
cheese. At the conclusion of the
poem which required all the dra
matic abilities of the speaker, he ment with him before the judges,
quoted in a stentorian tone, “A' it is very unusual that two such
voice cried ‘Halt’, and in walked a | strong opponents should face each
piece of cheese.” As he exclaimed | other in the oratorical contest of
those lines he raised his hand and j such magnitude, and a full house is
