CANDLER HALL
HOT GAME.
Smarting under a previous defeat
at the hands of New College and
eager for revenge, the Candler Hall
basketeers tried desperately to pull
a comeback last Friday night. How
ever* New College successfully met
the onslaught, defeating her rivals
3it to 34. As the result of this vic
tory New College is the undisputed
champion of the campus.
The quality of basketball exhib
ited by both sides has been overshad
owed only by the varsity this year.
The entire New College team moved
phantom like over the floor passing
the ball with deadly precision, when
the forwards had opportunity to
shoot they seldom missed. It would
he difficult to pick any individual star
on the winning team, although Moore
must be given credit for shooting a
goal in the very last minute of play
that decided the game. Gamble, in
addition to the good plays of his
usual stellar game at guard, regis
tered a goal almost the length of the
court.
Harvey and Gober with 12 points
each were the leading scorers for
Candler Hall. "Wee Willie" Hatch
er. playing guard, had seven points
to his credit.
New College is booked to play
the S. A. E.’s if they win the inter
fraternity tournament, next.
