WE lii'ar that the boys of the ad
vanced classes will soon start wear
ing a dlgerent style of clothing.
Numerous questions have been put
to this column while it walks about
the campus as to the probable char
acter of the new outfit, in lieu of
which we have some very pertinent
remurks to eject. The change In
covering will not effect the column
for we pass out this year, but never
theless there ure some excellent and
ilmely suggestions we would like to
see taken up.
Ku<li<-al Clmnge.
Instead of the regulation army
breeches we believe in Scotch Kilts.
These with socks would harden the
advanced boys to the cold so that
Jack Frost could not nip them in
the bud. A loud checkered shirt
would do well to match the skirt.
A big bow tie held stiff with the
pro|K>r wiring would tend to rut out
insubordination. Under tills plan,
each officer would lie required to
carry u bug-pipe, and he must have
hail two years hand practice, so that
he will be unable to play the same.
The money for these unmusical in
struments could lie deducted from
the Military Deposit.

The first platoon in “A" company
left the others in the shade oh the
best line during the last parade, but
"A" company failed to win the soap-
bubble cannon ball because her
Guidon did not render the proper
salute to the deserving officer in the
reviewing stand, so in his righteous
indignation he awarded the cork
screw cleuning rod to the loyal sup
ports of Company “B.”

THE CAT.
Monduy night, at twelve o'clock,
a shot was heard upon the campus.
As usual, the Kcd and Black report
ers for this column were on the scene
with the details already written up
when the accident occurred. They
dashed down to the ottice in the bot
tom of Demostheniun Hull and
brought tlie following story.
Two cats were discovered in a
compromising situation in the base
ment of Old College. A shot gun was
brought into play. One fled, the
other rolled over dead. The still
quiet form was dragged up to the
third floor of New College dormitory
and left in front of Room No. 26.
The two reporters were imme
diately dispatched to get more de
tails. One of them went on home
and went to bed. The other took up
his position in front of Room No. 26,
and determined to await events.
Suddenly—
At nine o’clock in the morning,
Tom Marks, a roomer in No. 26.
opened the door and started out.
Suddenly his eyes fell on the dead
body. He turned red, then white,
then blue. Many patriotic cheers
went up. He grabbed the cat quick
ly to his chest and cried in a voice
weakened by many days of anxious
waiting. "Hairy!! Hairy!! My poor
Hairy!” As lie sobbed out the last
words, lie turned the cat right side
up and looked at its face. “Shucks,
that's not Hairy,” he exclaimed as
lie flung the dead animal aside and
went on to his class.
Many persons think that the other
cat is still somewhere about Old Col
lege. It fled in such haste that no
one knows its identity.

Sergeant Davis claims this is a
joke, so we will print it.
"Two negatives make an affirma
tive," declared somebody.
"Yep,” agreed somebody else.

Business Men
Use Denmark
Hall for Meeting
The Beanery, called by the uni-
tiated Denmark Dining Hall, was em
ployed Tuesday night to seat and
feast a couple of hundred Athens
business men who were desiring to
discuss some very important munic
ipal problems. Those students eat
ing at the Beanery were given their
supper slightly earlier than usual
and the place was decorated to re
ceive the visitors. That night cars
packed the University driveways for
several blocks in the vicinity of the
dining hall, and the Athens business
men occupied the seats that are
usually filled by as many happy stu
dents.
