It is significant that your true tele

And this in spite of the fact that America,
by its solid achievements in telephonv,
shows the world.

Colorful Georgia,
Alabama Game on
Thanksgiving Menu
Once more Thanksgiving rolls
around and with it the meeting of
the teams of Crimson attire—Georgia
and Alabama. Ten thousand extra
seats have been provided for the
overflow' of spectators by the trans
fer of the game from the old Rick-
wood park to the new Birmingham
municipal stadium. The interest in
the game is greater than ever before,
evidenced by the greatly Increased
demand for tickets. No doubt the
Georgia representation will be far
out of proportion to former years,
for all Georgia is hoping for far bet
ter results than has lately been the
case.
To date Georgia and Alabama have
each won the same number of games
as well as tying a few. The Tide
has little to lose and everything to
gain while Georgia has everything
to lose and something to gain as well
if they should beat the Alabamians
for the first time in a goodly num
ber of years.
Georgia, the present conference
leader, has been practising for the
Alabama game for a week now and
will work hard up until Thursday,
the date of the affair. A large num
ber of Georgia students will attend,
going over on the special train
which leaves Athens Wednesday
night.
The famous Wallace Wade, Ala
bama coach, made the boast at the
first of the season that “Alabama
might not win the conference cham
pionship again but they would NOT
lose two straight games.” As Flor
ida beat the Crimson Tide last Sat
urday, it Is up to Coach Woodruff’s
phenomenal squad to disprove this
statement.
Sports experts over the South are
picking Georgia as a handy winner,
according to dope, but also comment
on the mental hazard which Georgia
faces when meeting a team that has
handed them defeat by four and five
touchdowns at a crack for the past
several years.
