Concluding u serloH of moot trials,
the Urn Mill Law club won over tho
Morris Law club Monday, to tukc the
championship of the law school. The
final argument was held between the
two clubs having to their credit the
greatest number of victories over the
competing clubs, composed of stu
dents In the Lumpkin Law school.
Justice Alexander Stephens, Atlan
ta, of the Georgia Court of Appeals,
presided over the trial which was
held in the Clarke County Court
house. The names of tho winners
will be engraved on a plaque, do
nated to tho school by H, W. Cald
well, professor of law.
Winning Speakers
Herbert Edmondson, Gainesville,
and W. A. Kent, Savannah, were on
the team from the lien Hill club;
while the Morris club was repre
sented hy Hal M. Smith and l’restoli
Ituwllns, both of Mcltae. The los
ing clubs will give banquets to their
victors at an early date.

Law Fraternity Is
Headed by Dooner
William Dooner, Savannah, was
elected chancellor of the XI chapter
of Sigma Delta Kappa, honorary na
tional law fraternity, at the closing
banquet of the year held at the
Georgian hotel Friday night.
W. G. Langford, Calhoun, retiring
chancellor of the chapter, was toast
master. He Introduced the speakers,
and announced the officers for the
scholastic year 1931-32. They are:
William Dooner, chancellor; J. T.
Terry, Mllledgeville, vice chancellor;
and Norman G. Keoves, Soperton,
secretary and treasurer.
Dean 11. N. Kdmunds of the Lump
kin Law school, honor guest nt the
banquet, delivered the principal ad
dress. Other speakers were: I. K.
Hay, Covington: Paul H. Paschal,
Monroe; William T. Hay, Arthur S.
Oldham, II. A. Birchmore, Kugene
Kpting, and Robert Wingfield mem
hers of the Athens bar; and alumni
of Sigma Delta Kappa. DeWItt T.

also speakers.

among university law students In the

Del Padgett and Ills “Carolinians,"
a nine piece baud of former Carolina
collegians, has been booked to play
for the dances, Mark 1>. Hollis, Sa-
vunnah, chairman of the committee
has announced. This orchestra for
three years has been touring the
country, playing in theaters, before
