BY FIRE FROM HOME
(Continued from page 1)
been waiting for a sorority house to
hurn down.
Firemen evidently know their
stuff. When questioned, the force
admitted that the bathers did not
make It to cover in time. Maybe
that's why they became firemen.
Another hero of the occasion was
Hart Odum. He proved to he most
courageous in dashing into the fired
building and bringing all kinds of
things out. Prominent among those
things which he dragged from the
hurtling building were two articles
classed as unmentionables.
The fire over, $1,500 damage
•lone, Chi O’s walked about with
mournful, tearful faces. Not so
much for the ruined house .which
they do miss, as for most of the
clothes Intended to be worn for Lit
tle Commencement week-end which
were ruined In the blaze.
So Chi O sororcs now put In a

Today the Governor of North Carolina
says to the Governor of South Carolina—
“Have a cigarette"
—throughout the years what one thing has
given so much pleasure..so much satisfaction
It was a matter of
pride with a host in
Colonial days that his
guests should smoke
tobacco grown on his
own plantation.
T ODAY people all over the world use
tobacco in one form or another.
They chew it, they smoke it in pipes,
they smoke cigars and cigarettes, and here
is what an eminent physician said about
cigarettes:
"7 hare been something of a student
of cigarettes, and it is my belief that
they offer the mildest and purest form
in which tobacco is used."
Yes, nowadays the cigarette is the most
popular form in which tobacco is used. A
good cigarette certainly gives men and
women a lot of pleasure.
Have a Chesterfield—
For one thing—they're milder.
For another thing — they taste better.
w far ax we know tobacco was
first used about 400 years ago
