Psi Chi Fleets Magruder
To Presidency of Society
Dudley Magruder, Home, was
elected president of the local chap
ter of l’sl Chi. national honorary so
ciety in psychology, at a meeting in
the chapel Wednesday.

Mrs. Edith Anderson, national
president, will open services this af
ternoon beginning formal installa
tion of Lambda Sigma chapter of
Alpha Omicron Pi, the fourth na
tional sorority to come to Georgia
in three years.
Ceremonies begin with formal
pledging this afternoon at Memorial
hall and will close with formal initia
tion services Saturday afternoon, ac
cording to Callender Weltner, At
lanta, who will be installed as pres
ident of the new group.
Social events honoring the chap
ter open Friday night with the Tri-
Deltas acting as hostesses at a buf
fet supper. The Atlanta alumnae
club will give a banquet at the Geor
gian hotel Saturday night; Mrs. .Mil-
ton P. Jarnagin, alumnae advisor of
the group, will give an announce
ment tea Sunday afternoon at her
home; and the Alpha Gams, K.D.s.
and Delta Phi Epsilons will follow
with teas Tuesday, Wednesday, and
Thursday.
Alumni and chapter representa
tives of all of the southern chapters
will arrive Friday afternoon for the
services. Mrs. Fay Pierce, president
of the Atlanta alumni, and Sarah
Graham, president of the chapter at
Tallahassee, will lead the delega
tions.
The following will he initiated
Saturday afternoon, according to
Gene Chastain, Beaumont, Texas, re
tiring president: Vivian McGahee,
Augusta; Lucile Miller, Bainbridge;
Ruby Billingslea, Albany; Vivian
Evans, Savannah; Sarah Brown, El-
berton; Martha Jones, Albany; Irene
Williams, Savannah; Evelyn Lanas-
ter, Hartwell; Frances Smith, Elber-
ton; and Elizabeth Ann Davis, At
lanta.
Formal pledging will be held for
the following: Ethel Gibson, College
Park; Virginia Bell, Elberton; Nell
Wilson, Fort Valley; and Martha Mil
ler, Bainbridge.

installed as president of the Al
pha Omicron Pi sorority today.
Deltas to Entertain
With House Dance
The Delta Tau Delta fraternity will
entertain at a bouse dance Saturday
evening from 9 to 12. The music will
j be furnished by the Georgia Bulldogs.

The annual dance presented by the
Chi Omega sorority will take place
tonight at the Physical Education
building from 9 to 1 followed by a
breakfast at the home of Douglas
Grimes, Athens, from 1 to 9 a. m.
The Georgia Bulldog orchestra
will furnish tlie music for this oc
casion.
The dance hall will he decorated in
the scene of a grape arbor and grape
streamers suspending from the lights
will be the chief motif of decorations
used.
After the dance, the Chi Omegas
and their dates will lie entertained
with a breakfast party at the Grimes
home on Prince uvenue.
Catherine Carson, Atlanta, and Ar
thur Booth, Athens, will lead the
grand march at 11:30. Members of
the sorority and their dates will also
take part in ths.
