Amid the colorful glamour and
fanfare provided by Editor-ahowman
Ed Baxter, Ashburn, seven co-eds re
ceived the accolade of "Beauty
Queen" Wednesday night after they
had paraded their churms before u
howling multitude at the second an
nual Pandora beauty review.
Toduy came the announcement
that Hollywood and rudio star Don
Ameche will rank the portraits of
the winners In order of their com
parative beauty. Each of the seven
who were selected will receive a full
page In the yearbook beauty section.
Choices of the judges were Betty
Crenshaw, Atlanta; Harriet Ether-
edge, Albany; Barbara Klells, Jack-
son Heights, N. Y.; Elizabeth Gull-
lebeau, Atlanta; Elizabeth Mathis,
Amerlcus; Cecil Mirhuol, Athens, and
Martha Wlneberg, Evanston, III.
Fossils Will Form First
Geology ‘Loan Library’
Fossil trilobites approximately
45,000,000 years old found on a
recent field trip by the geology
department may become part of a
first geological "lending library”
to exchange for specimens owned
by other colleges.
Believing It to be one of the
best flections ever discovered in
northwest (ieorgla, Prof. O. W.
Crlckmay, head of the department,
sent samples of the upper Cam
brian trilobites to the National
Museum in Washington for eval
uation.
Bulldogs Piny
As the Bulldogs played appropriate
music, candidates for the coveted
titles marched down tlx* aisle of
Pound Auditorium on the urniH of
escorts from their sponsoring or
ganizations in the glare of an over
head spotlight. When the crowd u|>-
plauded its approval, the contestants
mounted the stage and remained
seated until the entire group wus
assembled.
After the last sponsor hud taken

the fashion show, while Editor Bax

the beauty program.
Chapman, Collins, Speakers
At Gaff an Meeting Monday
Paul W. Chapman, dealt of the
College ol Agriculture, and W. O.
Collins, professor of soils, spoke to
members of the iiuffuu Club Monday
night In Peabody Hall.
"Within two or three years we will
have vocational education taught in
every high school in Georgia,” Dean
Chapman said in discussing the fu-l
ture growth of vocational education
in the state.
"The main cause for poor agricul
tural conditions Is that people have
been studying things that are not
fundamental in agriculture," he con
tinued.

Construction Plans
On Milledge Hushed
Only a few details of the plan re
main to be completed before con
struction of the Milledge Hall addi
tion begins. With blue prints finish
ed for three new buildings, workers
are now blasting on Ag Hill for
foundations for the new women's
dormitory and home management
building.
Construction on Milledge Hall is
Ix ing rushed in order that it be fin
ished by next October. The other
two buildings will be completed by
summer school next year.
Following the Brown Dormitory
plan, there will be three sections,
each with a living room, in the Mil-
ledge addition. When completed this
will be the largest dormitory on the
campus, accommodating 156 girls.
