that really made uh puff up with
pride, they looked that good. Gllmps-
od between frantic mometita of
prayer and pride were: Maureen
ThomaH, Muave and HoplilHtieated in
ail black, topped by a black fox
Jacket; Ann Williamson, that calm
polae dlHruptnd for the tlrst and
probably the Laat time In history,
looking lUHClouH In uqua blue wool
with black accoHHorieB; LaVerne Cur-
tla, as yuminle looking as those pep
perinlut candy HtlckH you used to
love ho, In a red milt, grey angora
sweater, red calot, hIioch and pock-
cthook; Mary Callowuy, glamorouH
in tailored beige herringbone ac

ing her glamour (which Includes
playing the inoauoHt game of basket
ball, volley ball, tennis, oh, you name
It. she can do It) long enough to
beat the mail In front of her to a
pulp overy time Georgia scored:
Chorle West, an original from Vogue,
In a mustard-colored coat trimmed
in mink and completed by brown uc-
ceHsorluH, not glvlug a boot whether
or not she ever finished practice
teaching . . , Just as long as l’osch-
ner kept catching those pusses.
The game over and won, the Ju
bilant Georgians really begun to
show thut ole college spirit. The
boys trotted out their best brand of
''spirits;" the girls trotted out tholr
loveliest allure: and the town didn't
have a prayer of getting to bed be
fore dawn At the 1‘arudlso Room:
Carol Maglll, hoaven's fnvolle angel.
In black starched yiarqulslte, the
white lacu top featuring long sieves
and two largo black bows decorating
the bodice; Marcella Plowden, alwuys
the most striking girl In the room,
gowned lu black velvet, the long-
walsted bodice flaring Into the Ire
blue antln skirt, looking hotter than
even her favorite HAK could have
Imagined.
At the Driving Club’s Hallowe'en
Ball: Cato Whelchol (what's the say
ing ubout the lassie with the clas
sic chaasIsT), besides being clever
enough to keep even the best of them
wondering what the score Is. looking
like a Powers model in a charteuse
satin. The most amazing one woman
team of our time, Betty Fleetwood,
who doos everything from fascinat
ing the fellas to being the most out
standing woman on the campus, u
vision in Ice blue satin; Eleanor
Troutman, terrifically tempting in
bronze tulle, the bodice of bronze
sequins, and, us alwuys, getting a
lorrltlc rush. Athens Is coining to
life again after last week end and
tho prospect for this week-end prom
ises that things won't bo dull. The
co-oda will still be mound looking
their loveliest and lighting for the
latest 4-F fascinator, which alwuys
makes for good clean fun.
