DRAFT LAW BLU^S
As If things aren't tough enough on some coaches in forming new teams
after graduation break-ups, the draft law lias to come along.
It’s hard to say now just how serious a drain the new draft will make
on college athletics, but some schools are already being hit hard In this
situation.

In the face of draft laws, were shoving their rosy-cheeked lads off to a
National Guard recruiting station, but no more. Short service In the guard
would exempt boys from the draft, leaving materinl to fill teams, but such
an escape Is now pretty-well blocked.
In all likelihood, the draft won't create much furor this Fall, as the Army
probably won't set up Induction machinery until late In September. Those
subject to the draft who have started a college year will be able to finish
out the year.
