The 18th annual Sigma Chi Der
by will be held Saturday afternoon,
Oct. 6 at the new chapter house on
Mllledge avenue.
Sorority pledges will participate
In the various events which range
from a tug-’o-war to a wooden horse
race. Trophies will be awarded the
winners of the Individual races, and
the sorority compiling the most points
during the entire afternoon will re
ceive the large trophy,
j A Miss Modern Venus, whose mea
surements will be revealed later,
j will be chosen from 14 girls from the
[different sororities.
The "Sweetheart of Sigma Chi"
! will be crowned that night at the
j Sweetheart Rail. The ten top can
didates for the Sweetheart crown
will be chosen at the Derby, each so
rority having entered three girls.

Sorority rush week closed Monday
at 5 p.m. when 260 women students
pledged social groups.
Rushing was held in all of the
campus' 14 sororities. Most sororities
will have formal pledging aometime
next week
Open rushing will begin in two
weeks for those sororities who pledg
ed less than 25 women durtng formal
rush week.
