RODDY RATCLIFFE
Roddy, Other Cats See Red
Tickle Ivories at Local Show
Roddy went out with all the other
cats the other night to hear Piano
Red. I mean to say that man can
really tickle those ivorys. The Har
lem was a-jumping (oiks! In case
any of you deadbeats don't know who
Plano Red is I consider it on my Be-
Bop honor to let you in on a few
(acts. He’s a local boy that made
good. If anybody has lived this long
and missed “Rocking With Red” this
doesn’t concern you, but that is Just
one of a long list of wonders. A note
to the wise—he’ll be back, don’t miss
him!
THB LIST OP THE LOVEHORN:
Beverly Teat has done got herself
engaged to a Delta Sig, Charley Car
ter. She’s the president of Alpha Chi
Omega and a mighty sweet gal. Gayle
Oroom, another Alpha Chi O, is wear
ing Bobby Purcell’s ring. He’s a
hometown boy, but due to circum
stances beyond his control he’s in
Germany now. Poor Gayle . . . An
other cutie that has latched onto a
ring is Shirley Walters. She’s an Al
pha Gam and he’s Hal Waters, Sigma
Chi. Congrats to you all . . .
We hear that Barbara Terrell is
driving the boys wild up on Ag Hill.
Ooo what fun! Joy Oaks, a Kappa
transfer from Drake, has really made
a hit fast. She’s Phi Delt’s sponsor
and mighty busy with dates.. That’s
easily understandable though. She
wasn't. Miss Drake University for
nottlng.
NOMINATION FOR NICEST
LAUGH ON CAMPUS: Aliki Zafria-
dou has got you Georgia gals beat a
mile on that “chuckle within.” She’s
an exchange student from Egypt and
from Rod’s viewpoint just plain ole
out of this world.
Monroe, Sigma Nu. Another Theta,
Carol Hood has accepted a ring from
Jack Burchfield.
Kate Tate went all the way to Tech
to get pinned. His name is Bobby
Drake and he’s a Chi Phi . . . Mike
Marks, AEPi, has given his hl-school
ring to Joyce Blumenthal, a cutie
from Royston, Gawja. She’s an D Phi
E in these parts. Our president of
UGRA, Sara Dessauer, SDT, is newly
pinned to Budy Hene, a ZDT at the
University of Nebraska.
LOLLY POPS AGAIN: Lolly Keel
and Bill Wallace Just can’t seem to
make up their minds. Anyway those
Delt and AOPi pins are back together
again. One of our R & B gals got
pinned Saturday night. She’s Pris-
rllla Arnold, an Trl Delt pledge, and
he’s David Handley, Phi Delt.
GIRL OF THE WEEK: Rod’s
choice for this week is a real cutie.
She’s former Ath-
e n s Hi beauty
queen, Jerry Alex
ander. In case any
of you males have
missed her so far
maybe these “vit
al” statistics will
help you get the
picture. She’s five-
five, weighs 116
pounds and has
blue-green eyes.
Also she’s a freshman, a Chi O pledge
and has NO STEADY BOYFRIEND.
Her major is home ec and what’s
more important her phone number
is 4580.
Kinney Will Park
Cars for Students
Who Find No Space
Lack of parking space on campus
was emphatically denied today by
B. C. Kinney, plant operations direc
tor.
Contrary to statements last week
of University Police Chief W. W.
“Pop” Rhoden, Kinney said Main
Campus lots contain ample space for
parking needs.
"If you hpar any student complain
that he can’t find a parking place
near his classes, tell him to come by
and get me and I'll find one for him
in a few minutes,’’ Kinney said.
Citing an example, Kinney said
one “indignant” student did come
by. "Within 15 minutes we counted
75 vacant spaces,” he said, "several
of which were within two minutes
distance of the student's classes.”
In answer to a flurry of criticism
last week, Chief Rhoden said there
is not adequate parking space on
Main Campus.
Despite this Inadequace, Rhoden
said, University policemen dally give
out from 20 to 50 parking tickets.
Parking in restricted areas Is the
most frequent parking violation, be
said. Many students, however, are
tagged for failure to register their
cars.
Print Plant Set to Move;
Egg Thrower Rejoices
More than one person will
be happy when the printing plant
moves from its present location
to the $50,000 structure now be
ing erected behind Commerce-
Journalism Building.
Ever since the plant has been
located on Jackson Street a lady
occupant has bombarded It with
various materials ranging from
rotten eggs to dead chickens and
dirty dish water.
