New Secretary Club Operates
Without President, Committees
By Gene Owens
The University’s newly organized Secretary Club is something un
usual in the way of organizations.
It has no officers, no committees and no written constitution. In
fact, although all its members are connected with the University’s of
fice staff, none of its meetings are held on campus.
The idea of a Secretary Club has elude all the University’s estimated
200 secretaries among its members.
The secretaries hold monthly
meetings at various off-campus spots,
each meeting planned by a different
school. The first meeting was held
in the Holman Hotel.

membership. She distinguishes the
clerical workers from the administra

with the voices they heard over the
telephone, and to And themselves an
outlet for all the secretarial chit
chat.
A notice was published in the Uni
versity's mid-week news bulletin,
Wednesday, and the club was born.
