Entertainments tonight and a cou
ple of dances tomorrow night just
about gum up the nodal situation on
campus this week.
The ole hometowns will doubt
lessly lie rocking and t'olumlius will
lie the center of a considerable
amount of socializing.
Probably the biggest and most an
ticipated event of the weekend in the
dance the Tri Delta are giving at the
Georgian Hotel tomororw night hon
oring their pledges. Piano Bed's rhy
thm will prevail as the whole theme
Is built on It "Hocking with Bed.”
It is a semi-formal affair.
“Iteriiiuda Fashion"
The Lambda Chi’s are being en
tertained in the "Bermuda fashion”
tonight at the Alpha Chi house.
Everyone will lie enjoying the com- i
fort of Bermuda shorts, a skit, and
refreshments.
ATO’s and Zeta’s will be tousting
tonight, marshmallows, that is, at
the ATO house.
DPhlE's will be hostesses to the
Phi Kps, and the Kappa Kappa Gam-
'ma’s are entertaining the KA's in
formally at their house this evening.
sized.
The girl with too many clothes, tn
most cases, isn’t as lucky as she may
sound. Nine times out of ten, her
color schemes don’t harmonize.
Most probably this girl, being
swayed by up to the minute fads, has
acquired her extensive wardrobe over
a long period of time. She hasn’t
planned her ensembles so that her
clothes mix and match. She has
bought something because she likes
It and not because she can use it.
StyleB do change and everyone is
nwnre of that fact. However, colors
are expanded and modified; they are
not changed.
If you look good in brown hut
sickly in orange, by all means buy

and wear brown. Don't fill your clos
et with orange because all New York
is wearing It. If you don’t look good
! In a color, don’t be totally influenced
j by the cover of every fashion maga
zine.
Certainly a woman should keep up
with the latest fads. She should be
an amateur on fashion hut an au
thority on herself. The clever dresser
analyzes each change in style as it
is presented, deciding whether or not
it were designed for her.
The girl who faces fashion with
sense will not wind up with a closet
full of unbecoming, therefore unnec
essary, wasted clothing dollars. A
woman only wears the clothes she
likes, no matter how largo her ward
robe may be.
A guide for the small, complete
wardrobe may be this: when in doubt,
buy the plainer, simpler of the two
dresses. Color and accessories are
easily added but difficultly removed.
Pledge Class Na tries Officers
Pledge class officers for Theta Chi
fraternity were elected recently. The
new leaders are Frank Miller, presi
dent ; Wayne Crockett, vice president;
Tom Farmer, secretary, and Bonnie
Mann, treasurer.
To the early Americans, the au
tumn season meant harvest and a
time for Thanksgiving when the re
sults of their labor were safely stor
ed for the winter.
Today, even though few people
have to worry about having enough
food to carry qjem through the win
ter or keeping a supply of wood for
fuel during the cold months. Thanks
giving still holds its meaning.
It seems that fall, with its color
ful leaves and picturesque landscapes
of golden shocks against a back
ground of clear blue sky, would cause
one to pause and give thanks for just
being alive. Yet I doubt that many
of us take time from our crowded
schedules to realize just how lucky
' we are.
I know I am as guilty as anyone
else of taking things for granted, and |
that is because the majority of us
jhave known nothing else. Of course
we have food, warm clothes and
shelter, hut we also have much more '
than that. Freedom, friendship and
a future are only three major assets
of American young people.
Consider the opportunities of a
college education and the many ad
vantages that accompany it; and
while you do this, w'hy not let the
folks at home know you appreciate
what they are doing for you? The
odds are that they won’t think you’re
being the least bit corny; gratitude
works more wonders than indiffer
ence! And as the Thanksgiving sea
son approaches, remember, there’B
Someone else who deserves thanks,
too.
