Freshmen To Hold Christmas Dance
The annual Freshman Christmas dance Is scheduled for Dec. 2 In Reed
Hall lobby from 8 p.m. until 12 M. Reed Hall Council at its regular meet
ing Tuesday night planned the annual affair.
Mack Perry, Winder, council president, stated that all women living
In Myers Hall are Invited to the dance "stag or drag.” He also added that
the freshman football team will be Invited.
Dress for the dance will be cocktail dresses for women and sports suits
for men. Perry announced that the Twilighters would provide music for
the dance.
Chaperones for the dance are Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Brittain, Mrs. Tot
Sugg, Mr. and Mrs. Mack Howell and M /Sgt. John Robertson Jr.

Thinkers meeting Nov. 29 at 8:15
p.m. in the Library auditorium. He
will speak on Thomas Jefferson.

Pandora to be printed in the 1955-56
edition, Editor Dot Veazey, Ft. Mc
Pherson, aiUounced today.
Veazey said any snapshot will be
considered, but the editors will se
lect pictures to be used.
Pictures may be submitted at the
Pandora office in Candler Hall.

Dr. Floyd Sager, resident veteri
narian, Claiborne Farms, Paris, Ky.,
was guest speaker at a meeting of
the AVMA Monday. Dr. Sager has
spent 35 years as veterinarian with
the U. S. Army Remount Service and
Claiborne Farms.

Three University professors Wed
nesday addressed the Rambler Rose
Garden Club of Thomasville In cere
monies commemorating the first gar
den school held on campus 21 years
ago. Dr. Hubert B. Owens, landscape
architecture professor, Dr. Harold D.
Morris, agronomy professor, and Dr.
J. J. Paul, entomology professor, will
attend and speak.
Europeans To Visit
University Nov. 28
On Orientation Trip
Five visitors from Europe will
be on campus Nov. 28 through
Dee. 2, Miss Dolores Artau, ad
ministrative counselor to foreign
students, said yesterday.
This will be the fourth visit for
the same group, Miss Artau said. The
University is one of few colleges
selected by the U. S. State Depart
ment to take part in orientation pro
gram for employees in information
centers abroad.
The visitors are especially inter
ested in the Continuing Education
Center and the program of short
courses offered by the University,
Miss Artau said. They also are in
terested in academic and extra-cur
ricular activities of the University.
Visitors are from Strausbourg,
France; Linz, Austria; Hague, Hol
land; Oslo, Norway, and one is a
director of the Amerika Haus in Ger
many.
Dr. T. 8. Hn, mathematics profes
sor, has been invited by the Ameri
can Mathematical Society to make
the maiii address at the society’s 59th
annual southeast meeting in Knox
ville, Tenn., Nov. 18-19.
Dr. Hu wili speak on homotopy
groups. Dr. Thomas R. Brahana will
speak at the topology session on prod
uct manifolds. Others attending are
Dr. G. II. Huff, M. K. Forte Jr.,
R. D. Boswell, James J. Andrews and
Charles Fitts.

William W. Neal, partner of Liller,
Neal and Battle Advertising Agency,
Atlanta, addressed journalism stu
dents today at 11 a.m. in the C-J
auditorium.
Neal was the first of a series of
speakers to be sponsored by the Sam
uel C. Dhbls chapter of Alpha Delta
Sigma, national professional adver
tising fraternity. After the talk. Neal
was the guest speaker at the fall
quarter initiation banquet of Alpha
Delta Sigma.
During his more than 20 years in
advertising, Neal has developed or
supervised campaigns in magazines,
newspapers, radio and other media
for scores of various products.

Augusta Student Receives
Annual Legal Scholarship
Hugh Connelly, Augusta, was
awarded the annual Phi Delta Phi
scholarship at the organization’s bi
monthly luncheon yesterday.
The University chapter of Phi Del
ta Phi, international legal fraternity,
presents the scholarship each year
to the junior in the Law School who
had the highest scholastic average
during his freshman year.
The award this year consisted of
a volume of legal treatise books.
