New Officer Slates Announced

Five social fraternities and one
nounced their new officers.
Kappa Slcma officers are Jack
Murdoch, prexldenl; Joel Knight,
vice president; Hob White, secre
tary; Brack Pound, treasurer, and
Bol> Korst, house manager.
Pi Kappu Phi officers are Jim
Harp, president; William Birdsong,
secretary; Robert Vincent Smith,
treasurer, and Bill Caison. chaplain.
Officers of Pi Kappa Alpha are
Buford Jones, president; Jimmy
Tapp, vice president; Bill Bullard,
secretary, and S. J. Denmark, treas
urer.
Sigma Nu officers are Bill House,
professional fraternity have an-

men's Physical Education building, tomorrow night from 8-12.

Dimes Drive Queen
At President’s Ball
Barbara Brown, Atlanta, sponsor

was named March of Dimes Queen
during intermission at the Presi
dent's Ball Saturday night at the
Women's Physical Education build
ing.
Miss Brown is a 19-year-old sopho
more majoring in Spanish. She is
WAA representative for her sorority
and a member of the Pep Club.
The nueen is a blond and has
hazel eyes. Tipping the scales at 125
pounds, Barbara is 5-7.
Serving as ladies-in-waiting with
Miss Brown were Lucie Butler. Kap
pa Alpha Theta, sponsored by the
Geechee Club; Sandra Lewis, Zeta
Tau Alpha, sponsored by Delta Sig
ma PI; Joann Brown, Zeta Tau Al
pha, sponsored by Lambda Chi Al
pha: Freddie Orr, sponsored by Al
pha Omicron Pi, and Pat Paschall,
sponsored by Delta Delta Delta.

class and faculty. Pre-legal and
alumni of the Law School may pur
chase tickets from James Lester,
J.lolin Jackson, or Bob Henry, junior
class officers.
The ball is sponsored by the first
[and second year law classes in honor
] of the school’s senior class. It has
^been a traditional event since the
roaring 20’s and is considered the
Law School's biggest social affair of
the year.
Dress for the dance will be formal.
The gymnasium will lie decorated in
a judicial atmosphere.
Several prominent lawyers and
judges in the state have been invited.
Chaperones will be Dean and Mrs.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert B. Jones and
Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Heckman.
Members of the local chapter of
Phi Delta Delta, women’s legal fra
ternity. will be hostesses at a break
fast at the Snack Shack following
the dance.

{pledge” awards for the most out-

tive fall pledge classes.
Recipients of the awards are Doris
Hudgens, Alpha Chi Omega; Sandra
Smith, Alpha Gamma Delta; Pat
Morrison, Delta Delta Delta; Joyce
Aipern, Delta Phi Epsilon; Patricia
Venable, Kappa Alpha Theta; Gail
Belton, Pi Beta Phi; Nancy Butts,
Phi Mu, and Jane Wilson, Zeta Tau
Alpha.
Since all sororities differ in their
way of selection for this award, there
is no standard set of qualifications
that would apply for all the recipi
ents.
Several sororities do not announce
tile winner of the “model pledge"
award until spring quarter.
