Sherrer Reports On Forum
Dr. Elizabeth T. Sherrer, head of
Family Development, will report on
the 1960 Health Forum which she
'attended at the Invitation of the
National Health Council from March

Her talk will be “Positive Health
for the Aging." This will be held
April 27 at 3:30 in Dawson Hall

The schedule is as follows:
WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 21, 6:30-
10 p.m.—Parties on that night will
consist of ice water teas with no re
freshments. Sorority members may
wear uniform dress, but no costumes.
|! THURSDAY, SEPT. 22, 6:30-
1,10 p.m.—Rushees will attend those
I sorority houses that they did not
I attend Wednesday night. Each girl
i will have gone to every house.
| FRIDAY, SEPT. 2», 3-5 p.m. and
| 7-10:20 p.m.—There will be a total
[ ( of eight parties on this day. They
[ j w111 be 30 minutes apiece. Skits,
[j costumes, and refreshments will be
i i allowed.

p.m.—There will be four parties,
each lasting 40 minutes. Skits, cos
tumes, and refreshments will again
be allowed.
SUNDAY, Sept. 25, 2-4:10 p.m.—
There will be two parties, after
which the rushees will sign their
preferentials.
Bids will be accepted Monday,
Sept. 26, at 5 p.m.
The main change from last year’s
rush schedule is the two groups of
parties given on the third day of
rush. Parties will be held that after
noon and that night.
Invitations will be picked up in
the Women’s PE Building as has
been done in the past.
Fraternities Compete
In Kite Day Contests
GO FEY A KITE! That’s exactly
what the Kappa Alpha Thetas have
in mind in sponsoring their annual
Kite Day this Friday.
The first event of the day, the
kite-flying contest, will be held at
the quadrangle in back of Myers
dormitories from 3 until 4:30 p.m.
Each fraternity will sponsor two en
trants.
A plaque will be awarded to the
fraternity who wins first place for
the highest kite. Trophies will be
presented to those fraternities that
win second and third places for high
est kites. A trophy for the most origi
nal kite will be given also.
Bill Simpson, public relations
director of the University, will act
as master of ceremonies for the oc
casion. Judges for the contest will
be Coach B. J. Clemence and Coach
Harbin Lawson.
After the contest, a lawn concert
by the Washboard Band from St.
Simons will be held on the Theta
lawn. Coeds will be allowed to wear
bermuda shorts for the afternoon
activities. Refreshments will be
served.
Climaxing the day’s activities will
be the open dance at Charlie Wil
liams’ from 8 until midnight. The
Washboards will furnish the music
and dress is casual. The public Is
cordially invited.

New Chi Phi Sweetheart
Trowbridge To Reign
As Chi Phi Sponsor
Ann Trowbridge, Augusta, was
elected Chi Phi sweetheart for 1960
Saturday at the fraternity’s annual
Cbakett Ball.
Composing her court were Peggy
Saul, Kappa Delta; Kathy Fleming,
Kappa Delta; Kitty Pafford, Kappa
Alpha Theta; Marian White, Alpha
Delta Pi; and Harriett Reppard, Chi
Omega.
Miss Trowbridge, a junior, is a
member of Kappa Kappa Gamma
sorority in which she holds the of
fice of social chairman. She pre
viously served as secretary of the
sorority. She belongs to Kappa Delta
Epsilon and the Bulldog Club, and
takes an active part in Westminster
Fellowship.
Chi Phi President Mont Miller
crowned Miss Trowbridge at the
formal dance which was held at the
I Athens Country Club. Roy Hamilton
was the guest entertainer for the
evening.
