Redcoats Premiere
Saturday Afternoon
Ladies and gentlemen, the Red
coats are coming!
This familiar phrase will again re
sound throughout Sanford Stadium
as the Dixie Redcoat Rand makes its
first appearance of the football sea
son Saturday afternoon.
The !i6-piece band, eight dancing
majorettes, 30 Georgettes, and solo
twirler, Barbara Emntinger, "Miss
Majorette of America,” put music in
motion to the theme, "They Can’t
Take That Away from Me.” Half
time will he the time for reminiscing,
the time to drift back into your
memories of “The Things We Did
Last Summer,” "Yesterday,” and
"All the Things You Are.”
The field will he a panorama of
color as the majorettes march out
in new all-sequined, red costumes
with tiny, crown headpieces, and the
Georgettes sparkle in new, black cos
tumes adorned with silver, aequined
bodices. The band completes the
scene in their spirited colors of red
and gray.
Leading the band will be the drum
major. Jim Willoughby, sophomore
music major from Milledgeville.
Majorette captain is Elaine Merrell,
Atlantn, and hand captain is Mitchell
Henson, Swainsboro. Mrs. Phyllis
Dancz is choreographer for the
Georgettes, and all show tunes are
arranged especially for the Dixie Red
coat Band by Roger L. Dancz, band
director.

day, Sept. 18, providing almost two
weeks of dally practice before this
season's debut at the Georgia-South
