Wesley Foundation starts the

tor, Rev. Russell Edwards, will be

s.c Christian Beliefs.“ Sunday eve
ning, following supper at 6, the pro
gram will be on “Christianity and
the Arts.” Students will participate
as they discuss relations between
Christianity and the arts. Both pro
grams will be at First Methodist.
Baptist Student I'nion will begin
running their blue and white bus
between classes from the north to
the south campus classes. The cost
will be five cents per person.

Canterbury (Tub will meet Wed
nesday at 5:30 at Hodgson House
for their program “J. B. and the
Problem of Evil.” Dr. Richard Wein
man of the department of drama
will speak.
Newman Club is planning a supper
party for Sunday night. It will be
held at Charlie Williams’ at 6 p.m.
The cost is 50 cents for members
ni'.d $1 for others. Transportation
will be available at Newman Hall at
5:30 p.m.

Disciples Student Fellowship’s pro
gram will be presented by Dr. Stan
ley E. Fowler on “Pre-Marital Coun
seling.” Supper is at 5:30, followed
by the program.

Musicans and Majorettes
Convene Here January 7
The University w ill be host to more than 1.400 high school musicians
and majorettes on Saturday Jan
School Music Festival.
During the morning and afternoon
hours, the singers, instrumentalists
and 500 twlrlers will attend clinics
nnd rehearsal sessions. At 7:30 p.m.,
a band, orchestra, and a 700-volce
chorus will join with the Dixie Red
coat Band in presenting a free public
concert In the Fine Arts Auditorium.
Those assisting include Robert
Page of Temple University; Robert
E. Lowery of Morningside College;
Joseph Ktrshner, coordinator of mu
sic for the Fulton County school sys
tem; and Roger Danes, director of
the Dixie Redcoat Band.
The event is sponsored by the
University music department and the
(leorgia Center for Continuing Edu
cation, in cooperation with the high
schools of the state.

The X-Club. a University club since
1931, has elected new officers for the
winter quarter.
The new officers are; James A.
Unmade, Savannah, president; Tal-
mndge A. Bowen Jr., Valdosta, vice
president; Maylon K. London, Cor
nelia, secretary-treasurer; and Rob
ert D. Carpenter, Tunnel Hill, his
torian.
The purpose of X-Club since It
was first started under S. V. Sanford,
then chancellor of the University,
has been to promote school spirit.
The club awards a trophy each
year to the most outstanding senior
of the year.
