Book Publishing Firm Honors
Education Professor March 3
Karl C. Garrison, professor of education at the University, will be
honored Friday, March 3, with the presentation of a leather-bound
edition of his book, Psychology of Adolescence, by the publisher,
Prentice- Hall, Inc.
The book ranks high on Prentice-
Hall’s list of best selling college text
books.

Englewood Cliffs, N. J. publishing
firm, will make the presentation to
Garrison at a 12:15 p.m. luncheon
in the President’s Room of the Cen
ter for Continuing Education at the
University.
Professor Garrison, a native of
Gaston County, N. C., attended Le-
gree in 19 22 and his Ph.D. degree in
1927.
His M.S. was awarded in 1926 at
the University of North Carotina, at
Chapel Hill.
He began his teaching career in
1927 as an instructor at George Pea
body College.
Professor Garrison joined the Uni
versity faculty as a professor of edu
cation in 1948.
He was co-author, with his brother,
noir-Rhyne College, Hickory, N. C., (the late Sidney Garrison, of Funda-

Five Councilinen
Five new.members have been elect
ed to the Reed-Milledge Council for
spring quarter.
The members are Jerome Hall,
Jimmy Chapman, I-anier Deal, Chris
Middleton, and Rob Fitz.

$60 worth of new athletic equip
ment for use by the residents of the
two men’s dorms. Also recently in
stalled were five new pay-phones in
both of the dorms.
The Reed-Milledge Council has
plans for a dance to he held on May
2 in Reed Hall lobby. The affair will
be semi-formal with the dance chatr-

Whitaker To Head Ag Club

has bepn named president of Ag Club
for spring quarter to succeed Waylan
Cheney.
Whitaker was elected Monday at
a special meeting. He is a member
of Omicron Delta Kappa and X-Club
honorarles. Serving with him will be
Waylan Chetiy, vice president; Wil
liam Monfort, secretary; Jerry Pitts,
critic, and Jerry Dover, reporter.
Maylon London is sergeant-at-
arms and program chairman; Lee
Jarrett. parliamentarian; and Ag Hill
Council representatives are Chester
Thomas and Loy Jarrett.

guest speaker at the recent Saddle
and Sirloin Club meeting. He gave a
short talk on Russian agriculture.
Twelve new members were Initi

The date for the annual Herds
men’s Ball has been set for March
25 at the Gaines Community Center,
for club members and their guests.
