Hints On Solving Crimes
Approximately 80 representatives of Georgia and South
Carolina police departments are attending a four-day con
ference ut the Georgia Center for Continuing Education,
which begins today and continues through Friday.

The conference, on the sub
ject, “How to Catch a Mur
derer,” is for detectives and
policemen whose business it is
to solve crimes.
Officials of the Federal Bu
reau of Investigation, the
Georgia Bureau of Investiga
tion and the Atlanta Police
department are cooperating in
the workshop, the first of its
kind at the Center.
Ted Hammock of the Uni
versity’s Institute of Law and
Government, who is acting co
ordinator for the conference,
said the workshop will empha
size the right way to look for
clues when a crime has been
committed.
Dr. Thomas F. Green Jr.,
professor of law nt the Univer
sity, will instruct the law of
ficers on the rules of evidence
and testimony in court given
by investigators.

RULES: The Reuben H. Donnelley Corp. will judge entries on the basis of
humor (up to */j), clarity and freshness (up to >/)), and appropriateness (up
to '/)). and their decisions will be final. Duplicate prizes will be awarded
in the event of ties. Entries must be the original works of the entrants and
must be submitted in the entrant's own name. There will be 50 awards
every month. October through April. Entries received during each month
will be considered for that month's awards. Any entry received after April
30. 1963, will not be eligible, and all become the property of The American
Tobacco Company. Any college student may enter the contest, except em
ployees of The American Tobacco Company, its advertising agencies and
Reuben H. Donnelley, and relatives of the said employees. Winners will be
