Keelboat
Sailors Get
2nd Place
The University Sailing Club
finished second in the Keelboat
Championships held Nov. 16-
17 in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Peter Wright, Randy Brooks,
Regs Brooks and Chris Mur
phy sailed 21-foot sloops in
the regatta, sponsored by the
Southeastern Intercollegiate
Sailing Association.
Wright, a freshman and
charter member of the club,
was named “high point” or top
skipper of the regatta.
The club has just been re
organized this quarter by a
group of interested sailors. Al
though the group does not have
boats of its own, they hope to
acquire some in the near fu
ture.
The club has approximately
20 members and is registered
with the Southeastern Intercol
legiate Sailing Association.
Pep Rally
The final pep rally of the
football season is scheduled for
Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Contrary to the other ral
lies this year, the Georgia Tech
rally will be held at City Hall
in downtown Athens.
A special attraction will be
featured.

sity’s athletic fortunes, on the
wane for the past few years,
the board expressed a "desire
to see the University of Geor
gia achieve excellence” without
“lowering the high scholastic
standards . . . for the expedien
cy of winning athletic con
tests.”
The board called for “alum
ni and friends of the Univer
sity” to support the position
taken and for increased re
cruiting efforts.
Coach Johnny Griffith said
former Bulldog Jimmy Wil
liams probably will be hired
as recruiting assistant. Wil
liams currently is head back-
field coach at Furman Univer
sity in Greenville, S. C.
Also Griffith’s status as head
coach was discussed, the board
member said, but unofficially.

U. S. Naval Academy.

House, Jean Howard, Joan Mc-
Broom, Mike Kessler, Judy
Reynolds, Marsha Mulkey,
Wade Keller, Claude Surface,
and Mahlon Cobble.
SDX Taps New Members
The University chapter of Sigma Delta Chi professional
journalistic society lias tapped 14 new members.
They are Vic Aderhold, senior, Atlanta; Jim Winton,
senior, Atlanta; Harris Langford, senior, Gadsden, Ala.;
Billy Maun, junior, Athens; Dave Fitz, junior Athens;
Rusty Boggs, junior, Atlanta; Neil Aronstam, junior, At
lanta; Bill Sanders, junior, Hartwell; Steve Teasley, jun
ior, Athens; Sanders Carter, junior, Athens; Jerry Hayes,
junior, Trion; Jim Word, junior, Miliedgeville; Gene Doss,
junior, Rome; and Larry Dendy, junior, Columbus.
Requirements for membership in SDX, the oldest, and
most select journalism fraternity, are a 711 over all average
and an 80 journalism average; a class standing of at least
third quarter sophomore; and a record of active work in
journalism.

After an interview, Richard
Starnes of the New York
World-Telegram wrote "Teddy
Kennedy is rigidly determined
to emerge from the thicket of
legend that has been created
by others of the Kennedy clan,
and to commence cultivation
on his own.”
Free tickets for admission
to the speech were distributed
Wednesday at various locations
on campus. Bishop said tickets
are still available at the Dean
of Men’s office.
