University switchboard on the
first try are one in 11. And
of reaching Creswell Hall on
the first try the chances soar
to an astounding one in 14,
according to the writer of a
recent letter to the editor.
Samuel A. Simowitz, a sen

[taken several statistics courres,
and a friend made calls to
Creswell Hall. ‘‘Sinco it is the
newest dorm. It should have
the newest phone system,” he
said in an interview. Their sta
tistics showed that for East,
South and West Creswell it
takes 4 4 nttempts to get a line
and for North Creswell, 33
calls are required.
Simowitz figured that about
3,000 students would read his
letter in the Ited and Black and
say "he’s right.” He nlso fig-
urged that two or threo hun
dred faculty and administra
tors would rend it nnd say, "if
he's right, the condition should
be Improved.”
"And what will come from
all this?’” he asked in his let
ter.
"The same thing that results
from all the other constructive
suggestions which appear in the
paper. Another new dormitory
will he built in the future at a
cost of $1,500,000 or so and
the same telephono system will
he installed.”
