Auburn Sweeps Georgia
As Bulldogs Fall, 4-3, 6-1
Al’ltrRN, ALA. -The Aulmrn Timers made a clean
sweep over tieorcia in a double header Saturday afternoon
in Auburn, winning the first game, 4-il, on a hobble in
the seventh inning, and going on to a near shut-out in the
second game, 6-1.

The crucial play in the first
game came in the bottom of
the seventii with the score at
3-3. Auburn third baseman
Ralph Wells got on first with
a hunt and went to second on
a sacrifice by pitcher Jerry
Lewter. Reggie Gilbert then hit
a single to right field and Wells
scored when Jim Gray hobbled
the ball.
In the second game. Au

0 lead in the second inning.
Georgia captain Tom Itcid
made the only score for the
Bulldogs when he hit a home
run over the right field fence
in the top of the seventh.
With a 2-0 win over Clemson
last Saturday, Georgia's record
stands at 1-2. A scheduled game
with North Georgia has been
rained out twice.
The Bulldogs meet Georgia
Tech Thursday and Vanderbilt
Friday and Saturday, all in
Athens.
