Officers installed
The Newman Club held Its
installation of officers and first
annual awards program on Sun
day, March 28. in the chapel
of the Catholic Student Center.
The new officers are Dan
Ward, president; Delores Pus-
ter. vice-president; Ginger Nim-
iner, corresponding secretary;
Cathy Callahan, recording sec
retary; and Tony Tromantano,
treasurer.
Poll Wilcox and Betty Nieck-
arz were selected as Mr. and
Miss Newmanite and Miss Nim-
mer was named the outstanding
Newman freshman in the
awards program.
Woodrow Wilson Fellowships have been awarded to two
University of Georgia students for the 1965-66 academic year
and a third has received honorable mention.
Selected from more than 11,000 applicants from throughout
the nation. University recipients are Caleb Burch Banks. Sa
vannah. a philosophy major, and James Thurman Bass Jr.,
Macon, a classics major. Honorable mention went to Philip J.
Muse, an English major from Brunswick.
The Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation which
awards graduate fellowships designed to recruit new college
teachers, announced 1,395 recipients in marking its 20th an
niversary. It has been financed, since expansion to its present
size in 1958, by two Ford Foundation grants totaling $52
million dollars.
Since 1958 the University has received Wilson fellowships
totaling $14,000.
