Dr. Thomas F. Green Jr.,
professor of law, has been ap
pointed to a committee to
formulate uniform rules to gov
ern the admissibility of evi
dence and the competency of
witnesses in civil and criminal
trials in U. S. District Courts.
The appointment was made
March 8 by Chief Justice Earl
Warren.
The committee Is made up
of federal Judges, legal schol
ars, and leading trial law
yers.
Dr. Green has served on the
law faculty of the University
since 1929. He currently
teaches evidence, civil proced
ure, Georgia practice, and fed-

Visitors to the open house
will have an opportunity to
watch a physical examination
of a dog, as well as some
of tho more technical pro
cedures of veterinary medi
cine.
During the day-long pro
gram X-rays showing defects
of the dog, injected models
demonstrating the circulation
of blood through the body, dia
grams pinpointing the location
of bacteria, and electrocardia-
grams, or charts of the heart
beat, will be on display.
The open house, sponsored
by the Georgia student chapter
of the American Veterinary [
Medical Association, will also j
include a farm scene using j
skeletons of domestic animals,
and displays of operating rooms
and instruments for small and
large animnl surgery.
Movies on surgery are on the
! agenda, as well as demonstra-
I tions on the caro and handling
of horsos and laboratory ani
mals.
Dennis McCurdy, president
elect of tho AVMA student
chapter and chairman of the
open house committee, said
vet school students will be on
hand from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. to
conduct guided tours of the
facilities. The school’s staff of
teachers, clinicians, research
scientists and administrators
are cooperating in the event.
Dr. Fred C. Davison is dean
of the school.
The School of Veterinary
Medicine was founded in 1946.
It serves Georgia, South Caro
lina, North Carolina, Virginia
and Maryland.
