Girls tend to shy away from the outdoors when it rains be
cause hairdo's don't." For girls who do choose to stay indoors
here are just a few suggestions of how to pass the time
• Stare out your window You may see other girls trying to
dodge the raindrops, knowing that they will get soaked regard-
loss of how quickly they walk
• Notice the redlight. Have you ever counted the number
of times It changes in an hour? Better vet. have you ever no-
tuvd how many cars run red lights - even when it's raining
• Plunder through the stuff under your bed - the stuff
which lias accumulated since vou moved into the room You
may even find an obsolete Red and Black which will bring a
few laughs B
CHANGE RETURN
• Sit inconspicuously in the lobby or near it so that you
can watch boys call for their dates and flirt with the other girls
ii the lobby until the date arrives. You will probably be on
tune for your next date.
• Check out all the vending machines to see if anyone has
left change in the change return slot.
• Dress up in your finest clothes and walk around the
dorm and see how many people will ask where you're going so
dressed up on a rainy night
• Drop a saltine or other crunchv cracker into a bowl of
water and see how long it lakes it to sink Lift it out of the wa
ter. place it on a napkin and sec how many days it takes it to
dry out Maybe it will be slopped raining by that time
CALL HOME
• Go to the laundry room and notice the different ways
people iron Laundry nxim conversation is in itself an entertain
ing pasttime
• (ount the number of times someone comments on the
weather situation, and asks for vour comment in return
• Call home and talk to the folks. When they ask what the
weather is like tell them with eagerness in vour voice that it
ctxildn't be slicker.
• Open your roommate's drawers and look (not touch I at
how she has everything arranged While vou are looking notice
If any of your garments are there later comment on the miss
ing garment
If none of the above suggestions pacify the rain watcher,
there arc a few alternatives left You can always catch up on
vour assignments. If this is still not the answer for vou. get an
umbrella and go somewhere Take this list with you and vou
may still have a better time — in the rain
