"What's so grueling about
girls basketball’’" you might
a* They never even have to
cross the half-court line.
WELL, NOT only do they
pass the half-court line, they
also have a rule which says a
team must shoot the ball within
30 seconds of possession. If vou
have ever seen a professional
basketball game, you know that
such a rule results in a run-and-
gun style of play.
Under the new experimental
rules whch will govern the
girls games, there is almost as
much running but a decrease in
the gunning or number of
shots. Once a team is on of
fense, they settle into the delib
erate patterns that mark girls'
high school baskerball in Geor
gia
Naturally, since the game is
full-court, each team has only
five players, but may substitute
freely. The rules are experi
mental in that now they apply
to girls' play They are essen
tially the same rules which
govern boys' basketball
THE GAME IS divided into
four eight-minute quarters,
just as in boys' high school bas
ketball
Practice for this team is
from 7:30 to 9:30 on Tuesday
and Thursday nights, as well as
once every weekend
Miss Miller, in her first year
at the University, says T was

Miss Miller said. "Having a
