Sadat warned Monday that an

any moment” but said Egypt
was prepared to repel any such
strike.
In Israel air raid sirens
sounded throughout the
country, mourning its nearly
6,000 war dead in 25 years of
statehood.
In a three-hour briefing to
the Arab Socialist Union,
Egypt’s only political party,
Sadat said his country was “in
a state of complete
preparedness because we
expect an Israeli aggression,
using the pretext of a
pre-emptive war, at any
moment ...”

achievements, I)r. Robert S.
Wheeler, director of resident
instruction in the College of
Agriculture, was presented the
1^72 Aghon Award at the
annual event.
Two new student members
of Aghon were introduced at
the meeting. They are Henry
Wall of Rome, a second-year
veterinary medicine student,
and (iordon Ahrens, a forestry
major from Dayton, Ohio.
Seven University faculty
members and administrators
were introduced as honorary
members of Aghon.
The seven are Dr. Sanford
E. Younts, Dr. George Bird,
Dr. Earnest Provost, Dr.
Jerome Clutter, Gary Couvil-
lon, Dr. William Colville and E.
W. Causey.
Aghon is the highest single
honor available to students in
the College of Veterinary
Medicine, School of Forest
Resources and College of
Agriculture.
