Cecelia's Golden China Rest
aurant <in the Georgian Hotel)
is a good place to get
American food a* lunchtime.
Strangely, the American
stvle meaU at the Golden
China are better prepared than
tin* Chinese dishes, at least at
noon. Cecelia's is one of the
few places, for example, still
to offer tasty chopped sirloin
with two vegetables, lettuce
and tomato slice, buns and
margarine, and coffee or tea
for only $1 30
Other worthwhile meals are
Spaghetti with meat sauce for
$1 35 and the Breaded Veal or
Ham Steak dinners for $1.50.
The portions are ample and the
taste generally better than
bland (though with some side
dish exceptions).
Chinese food at noon is cheaD
but not much tangier than
canned Canton fare Perhaps
at night, the taste is sharper,
but so are the prices, starting
at $3.25 (way above the UGA
Gourmet's $1.70 limit). At
noon, for $1.25 (including tea
or coffee), one can dine on
Almondine Chicken. Chicken
( how Mein, or Roast Pork with
cither Fgg Foo Young or Fried
Rice However, with these
meals, there is little meat,
much rice, and no piquancy
The best Chinese noon dish
seems to be Luau Chicken with
Fried Rice and coffee or tea
for $1 50. Other combinations
are in the $1.65 to $2 class,
including egg rolls.
