SEVEN THINGS
NOT TO DO
THIS SUMMER.
By TERRY MOCK
The occupants of the house
number four: Mama, a domin
eering and slovenly middle-
aged woman and owner of the
house,Michael, Mama's young,
frentic and vicious son; Elbe,
a young woman who cleans
and cooks and spends much of
her time in a world of dreams;
and the Old Man, crotchety
and always in need of a drink.
For the playwright, the first
production of a new work can
be exciting and traumatizing.
Unlike other writers of prose
and poetry, the playwright has
the opportunity to actually sec
his work breathe.
It is in this spirit that the
Showcase Theater will present
"The Touch Dreamed Up," a
new play by John Wilson.
John Wilson is a young
playwright from Massachusetts
and an MFA candidate at the
University. “The Touch

untill a storm brings an
intruder into their midst, a
sailor whose barge has been
damaged by the violent seas
The man excites, disturbs, and
becomes enmeshed in the
meager existence of the others.
Together, they are five of life's
refugees, sharing their frail
ties and fears, in a manner
which is, at times, brutally
honest.
The play will be directed by
Lynne Jebens and the cast
includes: Mancy Youngblut
as Mama, Celta Head as
Michael, Michelle Morain as
Ellie, David Wright as the Old
Man and Carl Clifford as the
Man.
Carl Smith , a guitarist who
often played at the Chameleon
and The Greers, has composed
and recorded the music for the
production.
"The Touch Dreamed Up”
will be presented in the Cellar
Theater of Fine Arts tonight
and Saturday night at 8 and
Monday night at 7. Admission
is free.
