MOVIES ON CAMPUS
March 12 and 13: "For
Your Eyes Only." Not being
a perennial James Bond
freak, I can't compare this
one with all the rest. But I
liked it. At midnight both
nights, "Death Race 2000.''
See death! See thrills! See
chills! See a man's head
come flying from under a
sports car's rear tire!
March 14. "Taxi Driver."
In which Robert DeNiro
manages to be as disturbing
as ever. Probably the
ultimate film about ob

Hungarian film about war

Classic. "The Amateur.”
The last 11 minutes of this

make a high falutin' New

this is good.

‘Lessons ’just porn for preteens
ByJ. EDDY ELLISON

"Private Lessons" is a
mildly amusing, soft core
porno film that will bore
anyone over 15-years-old A
ludicrous plot is concocted to
provide a framework for the
main subject matter: the
seduction of a 15-year-old
boy by an older woman
Sylvia Kristel plays a sexy
maid to poor little rich boy
Eric Brown While Eric's
father is away on a business
trip, a devious plot is hatch
ed by the chaffeur to trick
Eric intoopening his father's
safe.
The plan revolves around
Sylvia successfully seducing
little Eric and faking a heart
attack at the climax. Sylvia
views the entire idea with
embarrassment, the only
realistic emotion displayed
in the film.
A lot of time is spent trying
to show what an ordinary kid
Eric is. Eric rides his bicy
cle, swims and looks into
girls' windows A chaffeured

The Performing Arts Divi
sion of the University Union
will bring the ballet com
pany to the Fine Arts
Auditorium on Friday,
March 12.
No less a dance critic than
the New York Times’ Clive
Barnes called the Joffrey II
Dancers "... the best small
classic ballet company in the
country...
"If you get the chance to
sec this second Joffrey com
pany,” he advised, "take it."
Under the guidance of Sal
ly Brayley Bliss, artistic
director, and Maria Grandy,
associate director, 14 Joffrey
II dancers will provide an
eclectic program Friday
evening
Though the company has
no featured "stars,” avid
readers of People magazine
may recognize Ron Reagan
According to the program,
he will be among the
dancers
Dances will include:
"Madrigal," choreographed
by Jean-Pierre Bonncfous,
Members of the Joffrey Ballet
music by Elizabethean com
posers and Henry Purcell;
"Forbidden Flights,”
choreographed by Leslie-
Jane Pessimier, music by
Albert Glinsky and "Rhap
sody for Solo Violin, Flute,
Strings and Timpani "
Also included will be
"Romeo and Juliet i Balcony
Scene)," choreographed by
Richard Englund, music by
Sergei Prokofiev, or "Cop-
pelia iAct III — The Wed
ding Scenei,” choreograph
ed by Sergeyev Meister,
music by Leo Delibes;
"Monotones II la Pas dc
Troisi,” choreographed by
Fredrick Ashton, the emi
nent British choreographer
whose association with
Margot Fonteyn spanned
three decades, music by
Eric Satie; "Trois Gym-
nopedies," restaged for Jof-
Frey II by Diane Orio and
Denis Poole of the Joffrey
Ballet; and "Fantasy at Fid
dlers Bend,” choreographed
by Lance Westergard, music
by David Koblitz
On that final work, the pro
gram notes that the Joffrey
II Dancers thank Calvin
Klein Jeans for their con
tribution to the production It
may be worth the price of ad
mission to see a blue jean
ballet. If as little comes bet
ween the dancers and their
Calvins as between Brooke
Shields and hers, someone
ought to film a sturdy seams
commercial
The Program will begin at
8 p.m and admission is $5
general admission, Vi for
students with I D and V3 50

limousing, a $11,000 stereo,
and a swimming pool effec
tively counter the "average
kid" image Eric's "gee-
golly-wow" enthusiasm
seems so forced and un
natural that it takes all the
fun out of his sexual good for
tune
The best parts of "Private
Lessons" belongs to Sylvia
Kristels anatomy. Sylvia
has creamy thighs, nice
shoulders and wonderful
breasts. Unfortunately,
Sylvia exhibits as much pas
sion as a dead tuna fish. She
seems totally bored with the
whole seduction idea
As a comic-fantasy film,
“Private Lessons" could
have been fun. The lack of
good comedy writing and
half-way believable per
formances ruins the film
