The Georgia Museum of
Art will introduce a new
program for the hearing
impaired, in connection
with the J.M.W. Turner ex
hibition.
A trained guide and a
professional sign language
interpreter will conduct
gallery talks introducing
the life of Turner and giv
ing a full tour of his 88
watereolors.
The presentations are
scheduled for March 31 at
1:30 p.m and Aprjl 6 at 7:30
p.m
In September, the
museum plans to offer
gallery talks for the hear
ing impaired on a regular
basis, said Marianne
Doeszema, Cuarator of
Education.
It is going to be a slowly
growing audience, she
said. But no matter how
many people, the museum
is going to continue offer
ing the service, she said.
Gallery talks are held for
the public Thursdays at
7:30 p.m. and Sunday at
1:30 p.m. (except for
Easter). Groups may call
and set up appointments
The Turner Watercolor
exhibit, which began
March 7, has brought over
12,000 people to the
museum representing
many different areas.

Court delays Jones case
WASHINGTON (UPI) - The Supreme
Court appeared ready Monday to wait until
fall, at least, before tackling the dispute over
whether private schools that practice racial
discrimination should get tax breaks.
The suggestion of inaction of the politically
sensitive controversy emerged when the
court released a schedule of oral arguments
for the remainder of the current term. Con
spicuously absent from Monday’s list was a
test case involving Bob Jones University of
Greenville, S.C. and the Goldsboro (N.C.)
Christian Schools.
A court spokesman cautioned the absence
of the Bob Jones case from the scheduled for
April does not necessarily mean it will not be
settled by the end of the present term in early
July.
The Justices could schedule special
arguments in the case during May or June,
when they normally do not hear debate in
pending cases. Such action, however, is rare
ly taken by the high court.
