■ BEST BETS
6 • The Red and Black • Friday, January 26 1990
TGIF
Your best bet for this weekend would be to go see "Glory" at the
mall. If you have time before the late show, go see Asleep At The
Wheel. Sunday, don't do anything but watch the Super Bowl
XXIV. Make sure you go see Domino Effect on Monday.

gets this film.“Daisy” is the story of
an elderly Jewish lady (Jessica
Tandy) and her chauffeur ( the
ubiquitous Morgan Freeman).
Filmed in Atlanta, the film follows
their relationship over 20 years
and the changes it undergoes.
• Flashback. (Sneak Preview) In the
most bizzare casting of recent
history, Dennis Hopper is cast as a
(gasp) hippie. Kiefer Sutherland
plays the FBI agent tissigned to
keep him out of trouble.
LEFONT BEECHWOOD
• Look Who's Talking. It’s entirely
possible this film will never leave
Athens. For the 3.5 of you who
haven’t seen or heard of this film,
here’s the scoop. Kirstie Alley is a
single mother searching for a
proper father. Her babe (with the
voice of Bruce Willis) has his own
ideas, however. John Travolta also
stars.
• Blaze.
• Tango and Cash. An
unexceptional cop picture starring
Sylvester Stallone and Kurt
Russell. The two are cops out to
clear their name, but after a while
you'll really stop caring.
• Born On the Fourth of July. Tom
Cruise won a Golden Globe for his
portrayal of a Vietnam veteran,
Ron Kovic, whose crippling war
wound caused him to re-examine
his views. Directed by Oliver
Stone, this film has been compared
to, what else, “Platoon”, because of
its almost grueling intensity.
Certain to be a heavy Oscar
contender.

those “I am woman, hear me roar”
films, but Jennnifer (our trusty

It’s more about mutual support by
