MOVIES ON CAMPUS
• Feb 234: Do the Right Thing.
(Sport’s guy Gene Williams’ special
guest bit) Probably Spike Lee's
best, and most controversial, piece
of work to date. Makes a statement
about how stupid racism actually
is in a hilarious sequence where
different folks of etnnic
backgrounds spout racial slurs
about each other in rapid
succession. It’s funny and sad and
definitely needs to be seen and
discussed by everyone on this
campus.
• Mldnlghter: School Daze. Spike
Lee’s musical look at racism among
blacks. While it occasionally
misfires, this look at life at a black
college has some spectacularly
eloquent moments.
• Feb 25: The Fourth Man.

GEORGIA THEATRE
• Feb 24. Rocky Horror Picture
Show. Trivia note. “Rocky Horror”
star Tim Curry will be in "The
Hunt For Red October.”
• Feb 26. Yellow Submarine.
CLASSIC TRIPLE
• Blood of Heroes. New Adventure
film starring Rutger Hauer. Heck,
that’s good enough for me.
• Hard to Kill. Steven Seagal’s
second action flick is a fairly lame
story about revenge. You know, cop
lives, cop goes into a coma, cop
comes out of coma, cop kills bad
guys.
• Glory. A magnificent and moving
story of redemption and heroism, if
there is a film this year which truly
captures the triumph of the human
spirit, it is this account of the first
black Army unit. Set in the Civil
War, "Glory" captures both the
spiritual victory and terrible cost of
that worst of wars.
GEORGIA SQUARE
• Stella. If you’re looking for a
weeper, this is it. Bette Midler is
an unwed mom who must face her
■ AFTER HOURS
daughter’s growing up and
growing away.
• Always. Close Encounters of the
Fire-fighting kind. Lackluster
effort by Steven Spielberg.
• Little Marmald. Yet another
animated winner in the Disney
Tradition. “Mermaid” is a story
about a, you got it, mermaid , who
falls like an anchor for a landbound
prince.
• Stanley and Iris. Love story
starring Jane Fonda and Robert
DeNiro.
• Driving Mlsa Daisy. Beyond all the
Oscar hoopla, (Best this..best
that ) it is a auiet little film
about two complex people. Morgan
Freeman is superb as Hoke, a
chauffeur. Jessica Tandy is
brilliant as Miss Daisy.
• Night Breed. Best-selling horror
novelist, Clive Barker, wrote and
directed this tale of a community of
monsters and the human who
takes refuge with them.
• Madhouse. House guests that
won’t leave. “Madcap” comedy
starring John Laroquette and
Kirstie Alley.
• Men Don't Leave. No, not the
Ivana Trump Btory. Jessica Lange
in what the studio descibeB as a
“poignant, funny and eminently
human story about that most
amazing and baffling of all
challenges.... living." Yuckl! I think
this film’s about husbands who
leave their families.
• Revenge.
• Enemies: A Love Story. Oscar
nominated film.
LEFONT BEECHWOOD
• Look Who’s Talking. I finally
figured it out. “Look” is a
communist plot to steal our souls.
It won't leave until it’s enslaved us
all. (How else do you explain John
Travolta getting another movie?)
• Born On the Fourth of July.
• War of the Roses. Brilliantly

‘Men Don’t Leave:’ Stars Jessica Lange, Chris O'Donnell (left) and Charlie Korsmo
in the story of a wife deserted by her husband
twisted direction by Danny DeVito
turns this flick about divorce into a
dark, dark, dark, real dark
comedy.
• Courage Mountain A film out of
nowhere. Charlie Sheen, star of
“Platoon" and “Wall Street," stars
in a film which sounds like, you
guessed it, Heidi rides again.
• Valmont. The story here is the
same as “Dangerous Liasions"
except Meg Tilly plays Glenn Close
and Colin Firth plavs John
Malkovich (their roles that is).
