Eaiey looks to carry load
By NICK PARKER
The Rkd and Black
Head coach Mark Richt
was not available to the
media Monday to com
ment on Caleb King's early
Monday arrest. His players
were available but silenced
when the topic of King
came up.
“We’re not allowed to
talk about Caleb, so you
can ask Coach Richt about
that," Clint Boling said.
When told that Richt
wasn't available today,
Boling stuck to his guns:
“Well, you can ask him
tomorrow then.”
Nevertheless, judging
off the past arrests. King
could miss time Saturday
against Vanderbilt and
Washaun Eaiey , King’s
backup. Is already prepar
ing In case.
“I’m just going to prac
tice as if I have to take all
the carries or practice as if
I’ve got to carry a big load
on my back this week,”
Eaiey said. “Hopefully I
can just go out there and
just be a team player and
help my team to another
win this week.”
Regardless of whether
King plays or not, Ealey’s
hoping to avoid his fum

which he did against
Tennessee for the third
time this season
although the ball bounced
out of bounds and didn’t
cost Georgia a possession.
And Eaiey knows he must
step up to regain his
coach’s confidence.
“I feel like they got a lit
tle trust in me, I guess.
They need me to start
making plays and step up
a lot more. And with my
capabilities, I think I can
do that.”
Late in the game
against Tennessee, the
coaching staff put Eaiey
back in on the goal line,
perhaps as a way to show
him that they still have
confidence him to turn his
season around.
“It gave me a little more
confidence, just knowing
that they are going to stick
with me right now, and
give me a second chance. I
just have to make the best
out of the second chance,”
Eaiey said of the coaching
staff's decision to put him
back in.
Eaiey also denied a
reporter’s notion that his
fumbling three already
this season may have
become a mental block
when he gets the ball
around the goal line, and
FOOTBALL NOTEBOOK
said he knows what he has
to fix to stop the fumbling
issues.
“It’s not a mental thing.
I just know when I go in
there with contact that I
need to put two hands on
the ball, and I think I need
to start focusing on that a
lot more. When contact is
coming, it’s just putting
that other hand on the ball
for security."
SEC title hopes all but
crushed for Bulldogs
Georgia got it’s first
SEC win Saturday against
Tennessee, but unfortu
nately for the Bulldogs,
South Carolina’s win over
Alabama Saturday put the
Gamecocks firmly in the
driver’s seat in the SEC
East and all but crushed
any hope Georgia had of
rallying to win the division.
Although its goal of an
SEC title is out of reach at
this point, Georgia’s goals
remain the same.
“Just win. We want to
win. If the SEC is possible,
if it’s not possible, we just
want to win,” quarterback
Aaron Murray said.
Added Boling:
“Obviously, going into the
season every year you want
to win every game and go
to the SEC Championship
and go to the national
championship, but right
now that’s probably not
realistic or possible. But
we’re still playing for our
pride, and Georgia, and
things like that.”

the season against Ole

over the weekend.
In the two road games
for the Bulldogs, the native
of Lilbum totalled seven

moment came with Just 10

Ole Miss, when Baker
blocked a point-blank shot
to preserve the 0-0 tie
