A look at Idaho State By RACHEL G. BOWERS The Red & Black After starting the season with a 32-3 win over Montana Western, Idaho State has been on a seven game skid and has been out scored 249-109 in that stretch. Under head coach John Zamberlin, who spent 10 years as head coach at Central Washington before accepting the Idaho State Job. the Bengais have struggled mightily, registering just three wins in Zamberlin’s first season in 2007 —and just three wins since. Heading into Athens, .the Bengais will play in front the largest crowd they have faced thus far in the season. Out of its eight games, Idaho State has played in front of a crowd of more than 25,000 just once and in six of its games, Idaho Btate has played in front of a crowd of 8,600 or less. Sanford Stadium holds more than 92,000 fans. “We are ready for a trip to Georgia, who, like us, lost in over time {last week] but they lost to Florida,” Zamberlin said. “We are watching them on film. Our guys are excited about the opportuni ty. I’m sure it makes sense for them financially.” Though the Bengais have not played in front of a huge crowd so far this season, the Football Championship Subdivision team has competed in front of those types of crowds in the recent past. “It is going to be a great chal lenge for us but a great experi ence,” Zamberlin said. “You go, put together a game plan, pre pare and get your players in a position where they can play hard and have success.” Free appetizers.
