In the sermon at the Requiem Mass
Monsignor Sullivan, after referring to
Mr. Mahoney's services to the Church,

that of all the phases of his life, one
in particular stood forth, and that was
his home life.
“That home life was copied after
Nazareth,” Monsignor Sullivan said.
‘‘John Mahoney believed in God, and
he lived according to the council he
received in the Catholic Church.” He
referred to Mr. Mahoney’s “peacefully
beautiful death,” one possible only
through faith in God. “John Maho
ney is not dead,” he declared. “He
will live on. His life is not written in
sand to be blown away, but it is writ
ten in your fieart and mine."
