ATHENS, Ga.—Miss Carolyn
Harris, of Leesburg, and Leo
Costa, Jr., of Athens, were mar
ried on March 7 at St. Joseph's
Church, the Rev. John J. Kennedy
officiating.
Mrs. Costa is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cassel Harris,
members of prominent South
Georgia families. Mr. Costa is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Costa, of
Athens. He is widely known as
cne of the stars of the famous
football team of the University
of Georgia. He will enter the
U. S. Army Officers’ Training
School at Fort Benning next
month.

loma in absence from the Univer
sity of Georgia on March 15, as
he had already reported for train
ing in the United States Marine
Corps. A member of St. Mary’s-
on-the-Hill parish in Augusta, he
is pictured above shortly after re
porting to the Marine Base at Par
ris Island.
Pre-Flight Course at
B. C. H. S. Augusta
AUGUSTA, Ga.—In February
the government-approved pre
flight course was added to the
curriculum of the Boys’ Catholic
High in Augusta, with Brother
Peter, F. M. S., head of the
Mathematics Department, as in
structor.
The course in aeronautics has
assembled a large class, made up
of all juniors and seniors, and a
few sophomores.

services for Mrs. Annie Saunders
McSorley, wife of Charles J. Mc-
Sorley, who died on February 25,
were held from St. Paul’s Church,

Mrs. McSorley is survived by
her husband; three daughters,
Mrs. Euclid Armstrong, Miss Eliz
abeth McSorley and Miss Ann
McSorley; four sons, Charles Mc
Sorley, Jr., Emmett McSorley,
Francis McSorley and Paul Mc
Sorley, all of New Bern, and a sis
ter, Mrs. Eva Warters, of Washing
ton, D. C.
ROBERT L. BAKER
DIES IN GREENVILLE
GREENVILLE, N. C. — Robert
Lee Baker died at his home near
here on February 25, funeral ser
vices being held from St. Peter's
Church, the Rev. Charles J. Gable
officiating.
Mr. Baker was a native of Wil
son County. He is survived by his
wife, the former Miss Delia Griz-
zard; four sons, Jasper Baker and
Cordan Baker, Ayden, Robert .la
ker and Benjamin Baker, of Foun
tain; a daughter, Mrs. J. L. Man
ning, of Ayden; 19 grandchildren;
three great-grandchildren; a broth
er, Calvin Baker, of Fountain, and
a sister, Mrs. Lydia Morgan, of
Greenville.

vices for John Joseph O'Keefe, of
North Augusta, who died March
23, were held from the Sacred
Heart Church.
Mr. O'Keefe is survived by his
mother, Mrs. John J. O'Keefe,
North Augusta; three sisters, Miss
Marcella O'Keefe and Miss Bertha
O Keefe, North Augusta, and Mrs.
M. H. Hummel, Augusta.

The Novena of Grace in honor
of St. Francis Xavier, held at the
Sacred Heart Church in Augusta,
Ga., from March 4 to March 12,
the anniversary of the canoniza
tion of Jesuit missionary to the
Orient, was conducted by the
Rev. Raymond P. Levell, S. J.,
assistant pastor.

DIES IN TENNESSEE
KINGSPORT, Tenn. — Funeral
services for Mrs. S- J- Stelling who
died at her home here were held
from St. Dominic’s Church. Mrs.
Stelling is survived by her hus
band; four daughters, Miss Rose
mary Stelling, Baltimore, Misses
Mildred, Katherine and Margaret
Stelling, Kingsport; five sons,
John Stelling, Raleigh; Charles
Stelling, U. S. Army, Thomas
Stelling, William Stelling and
Robert Stelling, of Kingsport; a
grandson, James Richard "Stelling,
Raleigh; her mother, Mrs. Mace,
of Asheville, and several sisters.
