THE BULLETIN OF THE CATHOLIC LAYMEN’S ASSOCIATION OF GEORGIA
NINE.
Rev. Michael Manning, Paslor,
Si. Michael's Parish, Gainesville:
Our Campaign organization is
a large one and the caliber of
the leaders, who have volunteer
ed to serve the Bishop, assures
the success of the campaign.
Coupled with that is the earn
est desire on the part of most
of us to give our “Fair Share.”
This makes for a very potent
combination-an unbeatable com
bination.
Rev. Aloysius Wachter, O.S.B.,
Our Lady of Good Hope Parish,
Isle of Hope:
This campaign is a challenge
that we shall meet because we
love God. Our hearts are not
stone but they are sensitive to
the many blessings hestowed on
us who have been the heirs
of the generous gifts of the great
men and women who preceded,
us.
Rsv. Bartholomew Keohane,
S.M.A., Pastor, St. Mary's Parish,
Savannah:
The rapid growth of the
Church in this diocese has creat
ed acute problems calling for
immediate solution. The Bishop’s
fund campaign is the logical way
to attain the many parochial and
diocesan objectives. The gift of
a “Fair Share,” of prayer, work
and financial sacrifice will make
the success of the fund campaign
possible.
OUR PASTORS SPEAK
Rov. Henry L. Madden, O.F.M.,
Pastor, St. Mary's Americus:
Almighty God cannot-be brib
ed. On Judgement Day He will
not accept our material belong
ings as a suitable entrance fee
into heaven. He will however,
accept our record of charitable
deeds done in His name. Let us
all demonstrate our love .for Ho
ly Mother Church by charitable
giving in our Bishop’s fund cam
paign.
Rt. Rev. Msgr. John C. Kirk;
Paster, Shrine of the Immaculate
Conception, Atlanta:
I am convinced that nothing
we do as priests or laymen to
preserve the faith Can be so val
uable as the loyal supoprt of this
present campaign. We must pray
for its success, then offer our
loyal and self-sacrificing services
in union with and under the
guidance of the campaign direc
tors, and finally give a generous
financial contribution in accord
ance with what God has given
us.
Rev. Thomas H. Payne, Pas
tor, St. Michael's Parish, Sav
annah, Beach:
Our task in the Bishop’s fund
campaign is not alone to spend
of our substance generously. In
order that success be obtained,
we must offer our prayers and
our labor; giving, here too, a
“Fair Share.” i
Rev. Harry T. Hayes, S.M.,
Pastor, Sacred Heart Parish,
Atlanta:
The people of our parishes
will do their outmost to pro
vide for Catholic education on
the secondary level for a larger
body of students than at pres
ent. If young men and girls are
to preserve the faith of these
perilous times, greater depth in
knowledge of that faith and
maturer development in charac
ter than can be obtained in the
elementary grades are manifest
ly requisite. Devout parents
know this' and pray for schools
and religious teachers.
Rev. Michael McKeever, Pas
tor, Our Lady of Lourdes Parish,
Atlanta:
Our “Fair Share” in this cam
paign is dictated by our grati
tude and loyalty to the Church.
Out of sheer gratitude for the
faith that is ours, we will find
in this challenge to our generosi
ty, a small indication of What
our religion means to us.
Rev. Walter J. Donovan, pas
lor, St. Joseph's Parish, Athens:
We are 1 committed by neces
sity to this campaign that lies
before us, and we must answer
the Bishop’s plea for aid with
every faculty we can bring to
bear. The need exists; the way
is at hand; let us do full justice
to our faith and make this fund
campaign an overwhelming suc
cess for ourselves, for our chil
dren, for our parish, and for our
community.
