LETTER TO
THE EDITOR
John Markwalter, Editor
The Bulletin
416 Eighth Street
Augusta, Georgia
Dear Mr. Markwalter:
There has been an over
whelming response to an appeal
which appeared in your paper in
the column of Dr. Richard Pattee
asking readers to send books and
periodicals to the Studium Catho-
licum, Bulevard 12 A 15, Helsin
ki, Finland. So great was this res
ponse that the Dominican Fathers
in charge of the center have ask
ed us to try to help them chan
nel this outpouring of generosity
to the best use.
The only way we can reach
these numerous benefactors is
through the papers in which they
learned of this mission. If your
paper would carry this message
from Father Andre Bonduelle, the
director of the center, he would be
truly grateful, and, of course, so
would we. You have done so
much that we hesitate, to ask
more, but we do not know how
else to proceed.
Father Andre Bonduelle, O.P.,
Director of the Studium Catho-
licum of Helsinki, Finland, thanks
all the American Catholics who
were kind enough to respond to
the appeal of Dr. Richard Pattee
and to send books and periodicals
to the library in Helsinki. He is
very appreciative of this mani
festation of generosity on the part
of Americans. He would be very
grateful to these numerous bene
factors if they would be willing
to continue their help as far as
they are able. To avoid sending
material of lesser value or duplic
ate material, he suggests that be
fore sending anything, they write
for a list of desirable material to
